Now that a political change is upon us, what are the chances Stellantis could be persuaded to bring back the diesel in the Gladiator and Wrangler line up. I for one, would trade my 4XE I use for work in on a diesel Gladiator in a heartbeat. (Even though I would take a bath on the trade in value) My personal vehicle is a diesel Gladiator ( family has two) , but my work truck is a 4XE. Between check engine lights and recalls, our Gladiators have been far more reliable.

If they bring the diesel back it would give me hope that the current JTOD I drive now won’t be my last Jeep.

I would also jump at the chance to purchase a diesel JT Rubi. I was leary of the diesel due to initial problems. By the time I decided to look for one, they stopped making them and I was unable to find what I wanted.

It would take a couple of years to bring back the diesel. Getting it recert to fed standards etc.

Ram dropped the 6.4 Hemi for the gas engine Cummins for 2025. Plus the diesel is a new 7.2L engine. With them going to the gas Cummins. That tells me that they're not interested in doing any R&D in new ice's.

Probaly right I just bought a 24 Cummins diesel was going to wait on the 7.2 but they have tons of issues getting the 7.2 ready and the new transmission. Hopefully they will put the diesel back in Gladiator glad to here the 6.4 is gone what a horrible motor. I own a couple used car dealerships and we quit buying 6.4 because they always have problems

It is not a 7.2L. Cummins is working on one but still in development and still not confirmed it will be in a Ram truck. They are targeting the commercial world with it.

Should of waited for the 2025. They went ZF 8speed and the emissions is a new design. Complete engine reconfigured.

Interesting my Ram dealer in Cheyenne says just the opposite that it is a 7.2 and it's going in the Ram trucks? I better do more research all I know is I buy a new Ram or 2 every other year for me personally or my businesses and will never buy a first year cummins again it didn't work out in 07 and 04 was a little rough also. Thanks for the info

Not a new motor. They went with a different DOC/DPF and moved the injectors a bit. The motor you actual have is the first run of the hydraulic lifter design. It's been going for a few years but issues.

We got 72k miles on the one we bought in January with zero issues so far so wanted to stay with the same setup
