So I recently replaced my lift with an AEV Dualsport. Had an alignment done afterward just for piece of mind. Now my dash diff lock light is on, I know neither the front or rear is engaged. I did a bit or searching last night and while i couldn't find a situation exactly like mine, i did see a lot of articles/videos about the Z Locker solution. Anyone knowledgeable about this? or had a similar issue?

Just had this issue. You could try disconnecting and cleaning the connector but it’s probably coming from the magnet inside. I also had a gear change about 3,000 miles ago. Gear oil was drained at 500 miles after regear. Maybe more metal particles caused sensor to fail maybe just coincidence. Went with Z Auto pigtail, all is good now. I’ll eventually grab one for the front too.

Wonder if it is the rear locker sensor going out - it has been a known issue. Apparently, diff oil gets into the internals of it and causes it to go bad. Had mine replaced at 50k miles after the warning light came on like you are describing. Surprisingly covered under the 5/60 powertrain warranty because it is an "internal" part of the axle housing.

More interesting information:

Thanks for the input. I was going to swap my diff oil this weekend anyway, so I may poke around a tad. But I'll more than likely try the Z locker plug. The more I read it sounds like the fix for it. Again, thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

I had the same issue with the rear diff, and I installed the Z locker solution a few years ago.... The front diff has never been an issue. It has worked great the last 2 or 3 years.

PS. I remember swapping the diff oil, and that helped, but, the condition came back, so, I just went with the Z Locker.

Z locker 👍. I've had mine for a while with no issues. Locks and unlocks just like it should.
