DIY Mud Flaps?

I've been searching for some good rubber mud flaps for the front of my 23 Willys and can't find any. I really don't want the rigid plastic ones that I know will eventually break. Has anyone here had luck making their own or using one of the universal fit flaps?

I have the weathertech fitted ones on. As I understand it, they are guaranteed for life. Zero sling on the sides of the truck anymore.

I'm not worried about the warranty, I'd just rather have flexible rubber flaps

If you want durable rubber and DIY, find a rock quarry nearby and hit them up for some of their conveyor belting material. THICK rubber layered with nylon cords for reinforcement (like sidewalls)
We have a bunch of it in our raised bed garden area covering the walkway between beds. I got the used belting from them for nothing, but if you want pretty new stuff you'll need to pay.

You can also use Nyracord mud flaps, which are nylon-reinforced rubber flaps for semi trucks. They are very tough and flexible. I used Nyracord to make custom flaps for my JK. the only problem is that you need to figure out a mounting solution.

Do they work well? We are on gravel roads daily and I’ve just accepted the mud rooster tail along the sides and rock chips as part of life.

My biggest concern is keeping mud off the undercarriage so I don’t have to wash it quite as often to deter corrosion.
