2 and a half years ago, I bought a set of front and rear fenders via one of the big three internet sellers. They are made by Fishbone off-road. The fenders I'm pretty sure are still available.

I haven't beaten them up, and I've taken pretty darn care of my truck.

For some reason, the rear fenders are just completely ruined with rust right now.

I don't know if I got a bad batch, or what, but the front fenders are doing significantly better than the rear fenders are.

I guess I'm just posting this for something to think about before you add anything to your cart.

The paint on top of them is the rust reformer I sprayed on last weekend.

I just sprayed them with black

I sent a Fishbone bumper back after opening the box, straight junk.

one of a few reasons I've decided to stay with the stock and rapidly-greying plastic. It seems no matter how much research i do, every brand for this kind of stuff has some kind of rust story, and the idea that I need to buy a product and strip it and have the powdercoating done locally just to make sure it's not shit beggars beliefs.

The problem with these type of parts is where they are located.

You can have a professional powder coating done and it still gets rusted. It takes just one rock to fly up and chip it deep enough to allow moisture to get to the metal.

Better powder coating might be more resilient, but eventually if it gets chipped, it's going rust.

The Proper diy fix is to sand to bare metal, etch it, apply a 2 stage bare metal epoxy primer, coat with 2 stage urethane. And still one good rock chip and rust happens Again.

Aluminum and plastic fenders will never rust though

2 coats of primer, 4 coats of base, and 3 coats of clear. They’ll still rust at some point.

I've never been happy with the steel aftermarket flares. Currently trying to source some Mohave or rubi fronts but they are impossible to find. Had DV8 fenders and a tire carrier on our JKU, was total crap after 3 months.
