Now on my 4th Jeep and overall only 2 windshield replaced. I was out one night with the JTR and found the bugs really bad. With my JT being black, I figured a deflector would not stand out as much as on other colors. I went with the Bushwacker as it appeared to have good coverage for even stone ships on the front of the hood. I believe I see a different in bugs on the windshield, but it could just be me justifying the $100 + I spent. Cheers!

I do NOT know about a vehicle shaped as square and flat as a Jeep, but the ones I had on my F250 and then on one of our Grand Cherokees worked fine. Perfect, no, but did blow most of the bugs up to either the top portion or the front edge of the roof. Rocks, that's a different matter! They won't do much for rocks as the AIR being deflected won't deflect a rock coming at you. So for rocks, forget it.

Deflectors, had them on every truck/suv/Jeep I've had. They "USUALLY" move the bugs up out of the normal line of sight through the windshield. But yes, with a rolling brick, aerodynamics tend to change a bit.

I got the AVS version after one evening trip that resulted in a windshield that was covered far worse than any vehicle I have ever owned for such a short trip. My first Jeep of course. But, after adding the deflector it has seemed to reduce the splats by a good bit.

I can not say it's helpful having one. On a few roads I drive regularly nothing will help you bug wise. I end up spending 10-15 minutes with nylon scrubber and Wendex or other window cleaner scrubbing them off. Bugs are so bad it's like the starting of MIB movie. So far it's protection for edge of hood and moved the impacts up higher some what. I added it on order for mudflaps.

I used a glass ceramic coating and noticed a difference right away, stays much cleaner and it seems the smaller bugs don't stick. 2 coats works best.

seems most of them are just for hood chip protection. but the older styles that had a curve up on them did deflect bugs. just drive through a snow storm and you will see how they work, you can actually see the snow blow up over most of the windshield.....
