Does aux switch drive relay, or full current run through switch?

None of that is accurate. The switches are controlled by the TIPM just like all the other lighting and devices. All under computer control. You can program their behavior on the screen (I have, so I know this to be true).
I think I wasn't clear and you're misunderstanding because it's 100% correct. They are "smart" switches in that they're controllable via battery or ignition and that they can be latching or intermittent, but their functionality is a simple ground switch. The switch logic only affects when they can be enabled but once enabled, all they do is ground a relay's coil circuit.

Yes, the computer grounds a relay, as it does for most other things it controls. This doesn't make the whole thing dumb, or unable to be controlled if voltage is low, and things like that.
