I bought a 2025 Gladiator about a month ago. I read this forum for about 2 weeks before I bought one.

I just found out yesterday about the auxiliary battery and where it’s located because a guy with 3,000 miles had his go out and had his Gladiator towed. I dread dealing with that thing.

I look at this site almost everyday and it seems like someone always has a problem with theirs.

I have a buddy that has one with 124k miles on it and it has not spent a day in the shop.

I guess it’s the luck of the draw if you’ll have issues or not?

So far I really like mine especially with the tops and doors off. So I figure to heck with it and enjoy the ride.

Forums are just a magnet for problems. I have a few friends with Gladiators and they have no interest in the Gladiator forum because they have not had any issues and they have no interest in any modifications.

I learned about the two batteries two hours after I bought my 2024. I’m pretty nutsy/boltsy, having wrenched for pay when I was 17 in 1973, but that worried the snot out of me with all the stuff I read.

My ’24 had some rust issues from new (another thing to get worked up about).

So what did I do? Drove it only 8000 miles in 11 months...

...and traded it for a 2025 ArrestMeRed Rubicon. ;)

Yep, drive it and enjoy it.

I believe its like this with every vehicle. Some luck out and never break down, while another can have the exact same vehicle and run into major problems. I think no matter what vehicle you own you should always educate yourself on the issues you could face, and browse forums like this to find answers.

Just install as I did the genesis dual battery system . Problem Solved !!!

A good solution as well as just removing the Aux. I did and ran the cables up to the main. I didn't mess with hood switches or pulling any breakers or fuses. Been great for two years. I intend to buy a larger battery when the main gives out. I expect the main to go...no OEM installed battery lasts very long. I do have the aftermarket ESS memory unit that remembers, even after the battery is removed and re-installed, that I do not want ESS to function.

And as you say, doom and gloom here often...Then go enjoy the ride. Too bad some have a bad experience.

I'm the Unicorn; supercharged, lifted, tow, Moab 1-2x a year, not one warranty claim or issue.

Had a couple of dag nabits, but those were accessory related; loose track bar bolt from lift install, and a coolant leak at a fitting from the SC install.

Be careful of the "answers" you get. Educate yourself is the answer for sure. Dealers are supposed to have "certified" technicians but many are just parts changers so be wary and understand your issue before you take it to someone for resolution. Love my 22 glad ecodiesel but it did have a few issues. Still love the truck and what its capabilities are.

It’s a 2025…. be super glad that it’s a factory 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty.
Sending you some blessings that your local dealership takes care of it easily, quickly, and without any hassles.

2024 Mojave X and haven’t had any issues (KNOCK ON WOOD WITH BOTH HANDS & FEET). 😆 …but then again, I’m only turning 10,000 miles since March 2024.
I have a Tazer Mini also and don’t use the start/stop crap.

That doesn’t matter…… The one thing I do know….after reading countless posts…. When things start going funky….it’s probably the batteries. CHANGE both of them at the same time to help prevent any future grief……

As a experiment...

Pretend you bought a Bronco, or 4runner, or Kia minivan.

Take it seriously, you bought one, you love it, want to reach out to others like you.

Most will not have issues but good to know what to look for.

I like to complain about crappy dealership service, or no service whatsoever in most cases, but I love my 2020.

I only have 800 miles on it so far and I have not had any issues. Just trying to educate myself early.

Some guys at work said when you plug a trailer light system into a truck the start/stop doesn’t work. They said some people put an adapter in light plug in to keep the start/stop from working.

Is that true? Can someone shed some light on this?

Welcome to the forum. Here's a cheap trick I figured out to keep ESS from kicking in. Since you're in Louisiana should be a no brainer. Set your AC control to 60 or "Low" and turn it on. Leave the ESS on and scroll to the ESS screen on the dash display. It should say something like "ESS not on cabin heating or cooling". It will never get cool enough to let the ESS work.

Also, Search for "Battery Tender" or Battery Minder". Afew here including myself have one and it can be plugged into the trailer plug.
