Here’s some advice that I will pass on to you!!

I was putting my front doors back on. I carelessly let the door CLOSE only to realize that that would push the door stop/tensioner into the door ALL the way!!! You really can’t pull it back out, so I thought it smart to try to access the inside of the door by prying the door panel off. DON’T BOTHER. You can’t access anything.

I then tried a different approach. Simply grab the door stop/tensioner with a pair of pliers or channel locks. With a steady and HEAVY pull, you can bring the door stop/tensioner back out into position.
Hope this helps!

I'm considering putting a loop of paracord through the bolt hole and shoving the tentioners in during the last of the doors-off weather, and pull them back out with the cord when they're needed again. Everything I can do to make taking the doors of quicker and easier will mean more time with the doors off... those 4 extra bolts take that much longer... It'd be a tool-free job then.

Could you shove the tentioners into the door as they would be when the door is closed and then just not bolt them to the jam? Basically run the doors like JK doors with limiting straps but no tentioners? I agree having a tool less removal would be much nicer than to keep a 45 torx around when I want to remove the doors.

You should have a tool kit that came with the truck containing a bit rachet, T50, T40, and 15mm socket in a nice little velcro pouch that will remove the doors, top, windshield, and cowl corners. I keep mine in the truck.

I do but with the straps and good habits regarding the doors based on 20 years of jeep ownership, the tensioners are just another thing that really adds no value for me. Ymmv.

Should be under the driver side rear passenger seat. Mine showed up a month later in the mail from the dealer, along with the wheel lock key. I'd already replaced everything, of course ?
