Been looking to replace speakers all the way around. However after researching on Crutchfield the driver's side knee panel speaker is insanely time consuming to replace. Basically have to tear apart the entire dash to get to it. Has anybody done this yet?

I just did my 4 "tweeters" this weekend, replacing them with 4 midrange/tweeter combos. Nice sound upgrade. Maybe the instructions from Crutchfield I got may be helpful or not. Don't have the energy to tackle the knee panel speakers.

I'm planning on upgrading the 5" radio with the Stinger 10". I think I'm going to replace the roll speakers with a 6 1/2" 3 way speaker powered with 2 channel app. At this point I'll leave the knee panel and replace the dash corner speakers. I'm also planning on a 8" powered sub.

I got some 3.5" Kickers from Crutchfield, easy install. I am keeping 2 in the front dash, but ordered some 6.5" Alpine Reference from Crutchfield along with the "speaker mounts" for the soundbar. Will be cutting the plastic this weekend. Decided that was a better route for sound quality then replacing the 4" woofers and Crutchfield's return policy makes sending back the old speakers very easy. Speaker mount (2) add $99 to the order.

I may have to go after the subwoofer next.

I put these in two weeks ago and the highs are SO much better. I listen to a lot genres of music(mainly heavy stuff like Knocked Loose and For the Fallen Dreams) and everything sounds so much better. Ill do the same kickers for 6 1/2. I like alpine alot, but since im not running an amp.....im not wanting to drop the coin.

The kickers had three connectors, i did not use the crossover they came with, but i did hook them up with the MIDDLE biggest connector to make it a true component speaker instead of just the tweeter. Used the metra connectors and the polarity was correct for me.

The JBL'S were out of stock so i cant comment if they are 'better' but im happy with my kickers. I used to run apline for SPL comps WAY back in the day.

I'm expecting the Kickers tomorrow. I actually installed these in the dash of my previous vehicle and they sounded great. In the roll bar I'm thinking of installing a 6 1/2" Pioneer 3 way with a 2 channel amp. I'm not sure what to do about the receiver. Quadratec says the Alpine iLX-w650 is compatible. Crutchfield says it's not. I want the Stinger but $1500...dang that's a lot!!!!

I went with the Kicker KS series all around. 3.5 inch in dash, 6.5 inch in knee panels, 3.5 and 4 inch in soundbar. Put in a Kicker Key 200.4 amp to run the speakers. Finally put a Kicker Sub in back running off a Kicker Key 500.1 amp. Couldn't be happier with what I got in the end.
