Some Badlands Apex, Rugged Ridge Arcus install notes and wiring thoughts.

Last pics are a butyl putty I used to seal the positive lead into the Winch.

Also, I just took a Q tip in motor oil and swabbed down my ARP Hardware to prevent rust until I decide what Im going to do, lol

Rockhard 4x4 LCA skids and rear shock skids.

Worst instructions ever. Product fit great, hardware kinda poo poo.

I took pictures of how I assembled it, for reference.

Laughed at their 100 ft/lbs torque spec, and went with a more realistic 175 ft/lbs.

The skids are in fact side specific! Also their spacer shims need to point up to clear the "key way/notches/step outs" in the LCA mounts. I am starting to wonder if this is just a 2023 JT thing, or if all JL's have the keyway notch guys too. If so, then I've seen 4 or 5 improper install vids on this already.

I'm going to look at more installs of the front lower LCA skid on JL's and see if somebody else came to my same conclusions. Most of what I have seen so far was poor installs, or just a camera speed up and they are magically done without mentioning anything about them, lol

Rear fit nice and tight. Im going to have to do something to the rear lower shock bolts. I think I may just clean them, loctite, and re-torque.

I did the fronts in the air, because I had the vehicle up for the Teraflex 1.5" Level spacer install. Which I will post below about.

Teraflex is pretty amazing. Fit and finish is spot on, proper hardware choices, fantastic instructions with diagrams, tool sizes, and torque specs throughout the entire document! 11 pages worth!

I installed it the wrong way. I didnt loosen up all the Control arms bolts and retorque them with suspension loaded. I dont really care about the chance of the bushings binding with a 1.5" spacer installed. The eventual lift kit I get will be replacing the arms anyway.

Additionally I did not disconnect the track bar. I just used a small pry bar to get the spring back into the lower seat. It was easy peasey. Yes it would have been easier with the track bar disconnect from the axle, but I was feeling rebellious so I did it my way just to see if I could. Which it's very doable!

Truck sits MUCH better. Rubicon suspension is too soft though. Already drooling over lift kits and new shocks, lmfao!

I am looking at that color Rubicon myself with some KMC beadlock wheels. Just need you to add a 4 1/2" TerraFlex longarm lift kit so I can see if that is for sure what I want. LOL

Hell of a build so far my friend.
Thank you very much! I tend to build vehicles out a good amount, so this thread is going to keep on going.

I'll hit 6,000 miles this week, lol

I do IT stuff so I can buy Jeep stuff.
Nice thread and nice build. Like the way your rig is shaping up. I have the same set of lower control arm skids from rockhard, but due to not having even a parking space to work in I ended up going to a shop to have my lift installed ... so obviously I didn't run into any issues while installing ... I'll have to climb under there and check out orientation of the tabs some day when it's not sleeting or raining or near freezing outside!
