Jeep Gladiator Eaton elocker wire portal leaking 20220716_223804

It appears I have some diff fluid escaping from the wire portal. Any thoughts on how to stop it? Should I run a bead of rtv or gasket maker around the outside?

I don't think it's enough to be concerned with at the moment. I have driven it for two days and it has barely increased in size and I can't see any drips or a clear location where it's coming from. I'm currently miles from home

The only concern I’d have with that would be water getting in. I don’t even think that would constitute a leak as much as it is a sweat.

IMHO: just keep a eye on it, that's not to bad. But if you're playing in water and mud definitely check gear oil. It looks more like "wicking" of oil out than leaking, in the Army that's a Class 1 leak, Class 2 is drops form but doesn't drip, Class 3 is it drips and "deadlines a vehicle. If that puts it into perspective, many thousands of 4.0s Jeep engines, and millions of axles (pinion seals) are at the Class 2 and Class 3 level running for years. I might have a few....;)

That was my concern as well. I don't really play in deep water but I did need to cross some puddles on Poughkeepsie. I don't know if they were above the axels though. I guess I'll check the dip stick.

My thoughts is that it happened after some extreme off camber stuff.

Clean it off and keep an eye on it. I don’t think I’ve ever owned a jeep without an axle leak of some sort.
