They should be getting close. It was released Sema 2018 and they said it would be available very soon which means at least another Sema + 6 months. So we’re very close now.

I have a friend who works for Edelbrock in CA - I can always ask him if there's a specific question - I have not read this thread. Let me know more about this and I can contact him in 2 minutes. He's a really super nice fellow.
I bought a NOS (new old stock) 1977 258 that had never ever been installed in a vehicle - Edelbrock got it from AMC for development of performance intake for the 258 and the engine was only used on the dyno a couple of times. I paid Edelbrock $200 bucks, sold it for $1000 here in Iowa.
He was my contact person for that purchase back then.

I read back in this thread and found what I needed and have sent a message - will try to follow-up if I don't hear back soon.

Well, that was pretty quick - here's the EXACT message I got back -

>>Prior to the installation of the supercharger the new Gladiator has to have some miles put on it and then it gets base lined by our calibration Dept. which is what is happening right now on our company Gladiator.

Once the supercharger is installed our calibration dept. puts more miles on the vehicle, to be sure everything is working as it should and they do any necessary tweaking of the system to be able to submit the Jeep with the supercharger to the C.A.R.B for testing and an EO number. It's a long process to get it right and it has to be right to receive an C.A.R.B. OE number. C.A.R.B is very through so we have to be as well!! <<

So they have miles on the company JT, they are now doing the base line........

And here's what they repsonded with to me:

"... due to the impact and shutdowns because of the virus most re sorceress are closed, and slowly opening this is causing a major delay in current projects. we should have a update most likely close to the end f the year.
thank you. " (sic)

Most witches are closed?
That's what it says. A Sorceress is a female wizard or sorcerer - a witch.
An update, not a update.
I suspect they aren't the company's business writer - or English isn't their language. Oh, well.

I trust Dennis more than their generic responses anyway. He's been with them for a number of years and is directly involved, not an email front desk person. I know him. He was even involved in the development of the 4.0 head for Jeeps.

I'm certain that being based in CA they have been hard hit - like the chemical supplier for my plating chemicals - reduced hours, limited staff, and that's in WI, not CA.
Anything being developed in CA now will take much more time.

Ok, how 'bout now?
Seriously? A joke, right? I didn't see a smirk or a smile - but at 3 weeks since I said they were doing dyno testing on a stock JT - it has to be funning.
You are asking not even a month later - in the middle of a pandemic where staff is minimal, working hours are cut?
I posted on August 5th - what's that, 3 weeks ago?

They were only doing baseline on a STOCK JT 3 weeks ago. They had to put normal miles on it. Then they dyno the thing, do baselining - testing to measure all aspects of performance on a stock engine.
Don't look for anything this year - they have to still go through a lot of engineering, then there's weeks of certification.
Anyone know what it takes to get these C.A.R.B certified?
A whole lot - bureaucracy, testing, waiting.....
Remember, they are in Kalifornia.

My bet - nothing coming out this year.

NO, but asking 3 weeks after a detailed response from one of their team is a bit soon, is it not? 3 weeks ago they were doing the baseline on the stock JT - then it goes from there, and once they think they have it nailed, it has to be CARB certified. IF it passes, it's a go - if not......

Not stupid, but, uh, 3 weeks after they said they were just doing baseline on the stock JT seems fast for me in the middle of a CA lockdown.

The guy I know is the same person who did the research for their 4.0 Jeep performance head years ago. I'll believe him over any email response from their "help line" or marketing type.

What used to take xx months now takes double that due to staffing issues and hours reductions and their fun CA lockdowns.
