Knowing the Pentastar has some longevity issues when I bought this vehicle as my 'forever' vehicle I decided to baby it as much as possible. One of the things i wanted to do was do some oil sample analysis to stay on top of the health of the engine. To do this I chose speed diagnostix which is owned (I think) by Lake Speed Jr who has a great youtube channel The Motor Oil Geek. I highly recommend this service. the support has been incredible.

That said the included document is my first oil change from last year. I don't travel much, my commute is miniscule so I dont often drive mine, and when we go anywhere as a family we take my wifes vehicle; but since I'm about to do my second oil change I wanted to at least get this started so we can examine these diagnostics as a community and perhaps share all of our samples collectively to determine trends and such.

Vehicle: 2024 Mojave
Relevant Mods: Baxster Oil cannister adapter, Oil Catch Can
Oil being used: Amsoil Signature 0W-20
Filter being used: Amsoil EAO17

Oil sample 1:
Mileage 526

Thanks for starting this and sharing with the community! I look forward to seeing the health trends in the future.

As far as longevity is concerned, the one item that raises my concern is the oil cooler filter mount, that in the name of quick and easy service, is designed upside down, that prevents the oil to remain for better cold starts in the heads and valve assemblies. Or leaks developed in the cheep plastic body.

I think the engines have longevity . I been using Amsoil 0W-20 Signature series for all but the very first oil that was in it off the lot I have 113,400miles.

The internet would disagree, but I also acknowledge that the loudest wheel gets the grease, so the quiet people are the ones not having issues. Also that many of the people who complains are complainers and likely didn't do basic vehicle maintenance. This is more about "I'm going to do my absolute best to get the most life out of this vehicle and find the data on the way," mainly because I like data.

That's what the Baxsters oil adapter is for: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/baxter-performance-oil-filter-adapter.73840/ and https://www.baxterperformanceusa.com/shop-by-make/jeep-1.html

As I plan to keep my JTR Launch Edition for a very long time, I installed the Baxter Performance filter kit, https://www.baxterperformanceusa.co...t-ms-201-bk-cartridge-to-spin-on-adapter.html. It improves cold starts.

One of these days I’ll replace the plastic oil cooler with an aluminum one.

Yea I’m well aware of the replacement cooler/mount, my question is why doesn’t the factory use that design in the name of improved longevity?
Oh gotcha, who knows. The engines probably don’t have an issue surviving warranty period. All that really matters to the company.

I just took this pic this morning right after I pulled in the Gas station and filled up.

Change the oil, fluids etc. And shine her hood every now and again to let her know you care. 😂

Yeah heck look at the mileage on several of these owners trucks . Break in that truck slowly and she will give you 100k on that engine.
Rule. #1. Change that oil and filter often and do without fail.
