And people bitch about the thing honking when you leave with the FOB and the engine is running.
Do that in a closed garage.............

In 2021, or maybe 2022, they started having it HONK at you 3 times if you leave it running and take the FOB with you. But people bitch about that. This is the very reason they honk.
People have garaged their cars, not realized they have left them running due to how quiet they are, and bad things happen.

The CO levels are drastically lower on these because the CATs combine oxygen with the CO to form CO2 - but the side effect of that is still bad because you now have a lack of breathable oxygen.

A car left running for a number of hours in a closed garage will consume two parts oxygen for every part carbon in the gasoline. Eventually oxygen levels will fall to a point where a human will start to asphyxiate should they enter the garage.
I have left my JT running,...it is very quiet for sure. which makes me feel like that's a good thing! But, I also think I left it running because my brain is programmed to turn over or off the engine with a key in a jeep, not push a button, or maybe it's just lack of oxygen to the brain?

She killed it, buried it alive! Hope she doesn't have any pets at home.
I have no dog in this fight, but yes, DON'T LEAVE A VEHICLE RUNNING UNDER A CAR COVER is what I *guess* we learned?

@Maximus Gladius , if that's the worst thing your wife did on her lunch date, count your blessings and give her a kiss.

@In3briatedPanda , I got your joke the first time and enjoyed it ha

Heck, I still try to reach to the column to push a lever down so I can turn the key to "lock" and remove it!
It's amazing how often I reach for that lever so I can remove a key that doesn't exist.

Here, this is for you. Maybe it's the drugs, painkillers, whatever - but your icon and user name brought back memories of a song from a space-related album from years ago -

If I jump out and the radio doesn't shut off, then the truck is still on. I haven't looked at this with the doors off. On my JK with the doors off, the JK will keep the accessories on for about 5 minutes after I shut the engine off.

I figure next time she wants to go have a good time out with her friend, I’ll wait till she gets parked then use Uconnect to shut it off. Hopefully, I don’t hit the horn button. I reserve that feature for when a tech has slumped over in the engine bay sleeping or poking at something they shouldn’t be.

@ShadowsPapa I love The Moody Blues. I had this album (vinyl) growing up too! But my Handle refers to this!

This picture was actually a novelty pin and the some was written about the movie. I have a lot of sticker that were made for me. I had thought about adding the larger ones to my bedsides but the request was denied HAHAHAHA

this is a silly thing to be worried about.
No, what's silly is calling others silly for asking about something they:
A. Don't directly know about, have no background in that would give them an answer.........
or
B. Are finding conflicting information when they try to, on their own, find an answer so they don't get mocked for asking.

If it was so silly, why is the internet so full of bull crap about this very topic, where people guess or claim they know and have it wrong... if it was silly, then every post on all places would have the exact same answer instead of some saying "you ruined it".

Silly is assuming, and being wrong, when you could have easily asked a community of people, some of whom have real experience.
Silly (or stupid) is the unasked question.

(I hope you aren't a teacher)

Plant security here has an 11+ year old Equinox that runs basically all winter. Seems fine.

Left mine running over night and a second occasion of about 2 hrs! I wish the Jeep would let me know I've left it running or shut off after a period of time.
Ford actually has an idle shut off at 30minutes. You have to hit the OK button on the steering wheel to keep it going. Unles you go into settings and turn off this option completely.

We'll likely see more of that sort of thing as idling laws become more common and as there are more cases of property damage or "near death" or health episodes associated with modern vehicles being left running.
There's a reason (more than one) these beep at you. Ford has done a better job in a way - saying "since you are so dumb as to leave this running, we'll take care of you" LOL

We left the Dodge Power Wagons, gas, running 24/7 for months in Antarctica.
You were responsible for the penguin population crashing, eh? ?
