It’s not, but there are some folks that may take offense. Not as bad here as it is on the JL side.

There is a strike at Canada Post and they are experiencing shipping delays because of it. They may be delaying you sending it out so it doesn’t get caught up in that. It is worth the wait.

Since they’re twiddling their thumbs not shipping, I’d think they have a little time to respond to a guy who just sent them 1300 bucks… even an email that states, “hold your horses, our post office caught fire”…

every generation of jeep breeds different groups. I been in jeeps a long time, TJ guys are no BS “tough guys”, “JK” guys are dooshes, JL and JT guys are new generation and you’re right they can be “sensitive” but also the nose “green” of the jeep generations… for reasons above, I cannot stand [Banned Site]… all my 3 JKs resulted in very little forum presence… anywhere because the doosh attitude.

I do enjoy our JT forum here and the sister JL.

I’m not remembering it being that long to get a response, maybe 3 - 4 days. All done by email, they refunded an overpayment of freight/shipping cost. The exhaust is what I would order first - since it takes the most time to manufacture.

Idk, order the whole deal, so you can get the ECU back and make sure it is functional and the red security light is not on. Don’t ask how I know this 😕.

They do not use Canada Post, they use UPS.

I assure you they use Canada Post. And all the shipping companies intermingle freight handling. Check their facebook page.

AP says Canada Post is set to return to work today, may take them a while to recover from the backlog.

If you are planning on doing a delete... order the exhaust 2-3 months ahead of time. As they're all made to order and T&S Speed Shop is always swamped but they're by far the best pre-made exhaust option out there for EcoDiesels. You could always go the custom route but you would need a shop that doesn't care about deleting.

Actually I plan on ordering a stage 1 and 2 ECU, and order the exhaust later. I’ll run the stage 1 now and stage 2 when I feel like taking my truck apart… but at least I can rock the stage 1 until I get the exhaust

In reality, just running the Stage 1 will give you the biggest bang for your buck. The EGR is the system that damages your engine, the DPF/DEF stuff isn't ideal but it's not the one spewing soot back into your intake.

Either way, EOC (Mr Tuning & T&S Speed Shop specifically) are great. I used them on my other EcoDiesels and will be using them for a full delete on this Gladiator once I move next year. Where I'm moving requires an out-of-province inspection and I don't feel like dealing with the emissions hassle if I can't find a shop that's diesel friendly. Only sitting at 65,000km (40,000 miles) and my driving is minimal during the winter as I work from home, so not too concerned currently.

Anyone doing the full delete... a couple recommendations after you delete (depending on mileage)

  • Replace the intake manifold or do one hell of a clean on it
  • Look into a soot cleaning service (Somewhere like Daves Auto in Utah offers this) where they'll pull the intake off and use walnut shells to clean all the shit out
  • Delete the EGR Cooler (This is a known fire risk, not sure if this is a big deal on the 3rd gens anymore but it was on the 2nd)
Just my 2-cents. The 3.0 is a whole different beast when you delete it, you'll love it.

I’d say suggestion 1 and 2 are the same … I was wondering the best way to clean out the intake … walnuts, hmm …

do we know if either tune disables the swirl valves ? The aluminum banks intake looks like a nice unit, but does without the swirl valves.

I was thinking about removing the EGR entirely, but for warranty purposes, I may leave it on… has anyone removed the low pressure EGR yet? All I’ve seen are the high pressure EGRs being removed.

I saw that Banks unit the other day (aluminum intake). It doesn't have the diffuser tube port which wouldn't be needed any longer if you went this far. It also states it is not compatible with the Gen 3, but I think for the reason already presented.

I watch a video on the EGR removal as well. It definitely is a intensive process, but seems as long as you take your time it's pretty straight forward. The intake looks to be the same, but this one you have to put it back together.

It does not, but you can ask for the code from the swirl valve to be disabled. Mine have never worked in the 350k I've owned my truck.

I've also never cleaned the intake, with walnuts, peanuts, or Coconuts.
