If you pull f42, be sure to push the ESS switch every time you start the vehicle, or have a device installed to do it for you. Electronics don't like voltage drops during an ESS event. That is why the aux is there.
Exactly. The electronics are charged up during the stop, then have a sudden drop and recharge during the restart. That battery is a buffer. Learned a lot about that at CCC. Even the order in which things get power can matter. Found that in designing the PCs for their Series IV controllers.
