So...I hate to open a can of worms but I'm 1 1/2 years into ownership of the Gladiator and I'm being bombarded with extended warranty offers. I would like to get one at some point but need advice on witch one to go for. I want as many years as possible and bumper to bumper coverage as I plan on having this vehicle a very long time. 2024 and only have 4500 miles on it. Any advice would be appreciated.

You'll get a lot of opinions on whether to get one or not, but it sounds like you've already decided. With that said, I'd only recommend getting the actual Jeep warranty. Other extended warranties are so full of traps and BS. Do a search here and you'll find some vendors offering discounted extended warranties (and plenty of opinions about them).

Ignore, Ignore, Ignore……Don’t take the bait. Relax….and do your homework.

Personally, I could never buy an extended warranty while you’re still under the 3/36. Why pay them for something you won’t even use until after 3/36?

Don’t do 3rd party warranties….stick with Mopar.

Personally….I’ve never actually bought an extended warranty on any new vehicles I’ve owned. I’ve been lucky enough to not ever need it. Knock on wood.
If something goes wrong….. we’ll either fix it ourselves or pay to have it fixed.
And if it gets ‘too much’, I won’t hesitate to trade it in!!

CNA has taken care of our issues, but now we've been waiting three weeks on them to decide about replacing an engine.

This is the one I've been thinking about, now they are saying price increases are coming after the 1st of the year. Not sure if this is just a sales tactic or what, either way if I buy the 8 year coverage it starts on the day I purchased it. So I may just wait it out another year.

5year Honda & Mercedes Service Advisor here. I call warranty companies daily. Most are garbage.
The best I have worked with are:

Zurich
JMA/Fidelity

Beyond that is a crap-shoot. Most warranties have more "exclusions" than "inclusions". Some warranties only cover listed part numbers. Some only carry listed part names. Some don't cover nuts and bolts. Some don't cover seals.

You are generally better off investing $5000 in an S&P 500 Index mutual fund, then pull money out when needed.

Remember, the house always wins. It is rare a warranty company pays out more than you paid for the warranty itself.

Once again I do this daily, and when I bought two brand new Jeeps last year I did not buy extended warranties, even though I get them at cost from my dealership.

*I did buy 3 years of windshield coverage for $700 for each Jeep from PWC (Prosidium) because PWC covers OEM Jeep windshields and calibration. One windshield breakage and it pays for itself.

I have a bad engine. CNA has covered both sides of cams, rockers and tappets. With our Bronco Sport Badlands, we haven't had any issues to cover.

I may be mistaken but if you wait until just before end of std warranty, they still start from delivery date.

That's good! I have certainly seen engines covered before, replaced with used ones from LKQ. Most warranty companies I have dealt with want oil change and maintenance records for several years prior before approving engines, and if you miss a manufacturer recommended service interval even by a few miles the claim can be declined... That is my experience with calling warranty companies daily for approvals over the past 5 years.

Here's the contact information for the best Mopar warranty deal that I found, over the summer:

Tom Winkels
FlexCare/Mopar Service Contract Sales
LaFontaine CDJR of Walled Lake
[email protected]
Direct 269.385.1126 leave msg
CELL 269.998.5555 leave msg

I got mine right away, the longer you wait the more the price goes up, it even covers the 2" Mopar lift. Let him know that I recommended you and you're a member of the forum, it might help with a better deal.

In the past I have had a couple of OEM extended warranties, but this time I am trying Geico's MBI insurance. The main reason I am trying the MBI is because OEM dealers routinely decline warranty work and with the Geico MBI I am able to take my Jeep to independents of my choice. I currently pay $37 a year for my coverage up to 7 years and 100k miles with a $250 deductible. I have not had to use it yet but it's available if I need it and for a total of under $300 for 7 years, I'll try it. The only requirment is you have a Geico policy and your vehicle is within 15 months and 15k miles from dealer purchase.

Right, the only thing is the price will be higher the longer I wait.

We've had to send in our maintenance records back to mile 9, beginning of ownership.

I'm getting too old to crawl around under vehicles so I'm getting all service and repairs done at the dealership where I bought the truck. That way they have all the records...I hope
