I thought I remember reading on here somewhere that someone had ordered these for a sport and they didn't fit. The dealer actually messed up one of his axles trying.

It might have been a Rubicon, because somehow I remember something about the locker connection getting damaged.

Are we sure what these 4.88s will fit?

It seems to me that it would be the same as any other customer ordered Jeep. There are already Jeeps going down the line with different gear ratios depending on order specs and trim. Maybe I'm wrong...
The JT alone already has a sizable list of axles that need to be on hand for the different models. Are all diesels on wide axles?
3 Front Axles: Base 3.73, open 4.10, open 4.10 (iron knuckles), locked 4.10
4 Rear Axles: Base 3.73, LSD 3.73, LSD 4.10, locked 4.10
XR Rubicon option would add one more to each, as would XR Willys. Both would be awesome.
In looking at the 2022 JL build sheet, The XR package requires ERG (E-torque) which then requires the automatic. ON the Willys, that adds a total of $6245. ouch! $46,525 MSRP
On the MT (only) Rubicon, you can get the DMS 4.88 option for $895. It's a lot for gears, but puts you at $44,895 MSRP.
