I also wired my 12v outlet to thd aux switch. My reason is that I have tge switch set so it only provides 12v when the car is running. This let's my charge my portable battery only when I'm driving and I don't need to worry about a dead truck in the morning when i forget to unplug the 12v. It's basically acting as a relay paired to the ignition.
interesting. I have a 12v in the bed I installed that has a switch. So even when truck is on, if switch isn’t on, that 12v won’t be draining.

I did see some other forum users here say they aren’t comfortable with a hot wire running the length of the vehicle. Not sure if the Aux solution fixes that

I just never wanted to deal with a switch and forgetting to turn it on/off. I'm not too concerned about a sometimes hot wire.

Curious on your set up. Can you share more on this?
Originally had front and rear facing cameras mounted to the underside of the mirrors, and could switch between them with an aux switch, but the low light performance of the cameras sucked and one of my cams seemed to overheat (crapped out on the trail where I needed it the most).

I can get you all the actual products/links, but this is the setup.

This is exactly what I am doing as well. The Aux switch has a 40A fuse. And my Ecoflow battery pack is fused as well.
