interesting. I have a 12v in the bed I installed that has a switch. So even when truck is on, if switch isn’t on, that 12v won’t be draining.I also wired my 12v outlet to thd aux switch. My reason is that I have tge switch set so it only provides 12v when the car is running. This let's my charge my portable battery only when I'm driving and I don't need to worry about a dead truck in the morning when i forget to unplug the 12v. It's basically acting as a relay paired to the ignition.
I did see some other forum users here say they aren’t comfortable with a hot wire running the length of the vehicle. Not sure if the Aux solution fixes that
