Feedback on Clayton rear springs HD vs Non-HD please

I am getting ready to add a 3.5" lift and have decided on Clayton. Can anyone chime in on the HD springs vs the regular springs? I am not adding a roof top and a bunch of gear, but this is a truck and I will haul stuff at times including a utility trailer or jet ski possibly.

Gut tells me to go with the HD springs but will the truck ride to stiff?

Unless you are planning on being way overloaded the regular springs are fine. I have the regular springs and tow a 3500 pound trailer with about 350ish tongue weight, and about 400 pounds of gear and don't sag enough to be more than just about level.

I have a 2.5 Clayton lift for diesel meaning higher spring rate for the weight. My truck squats about 2-3inches when I hook up my 14ft flat bed trailer with 2 quads. I added airbags that go inside the coil and they helped the sagging when I connect the trailer. Sagging is now about 1”. I also have my bed full of Milwaukee tools so that adds to sagging. I would say the opposite and say go for the HD springs in rear, if I were to do it again I would. Don’t know how harsh it would ride, but knowing Clayton and the great ride they are know for I wouldn’t be worried. Or you could add bags like I did and air them up when towing only, I didn’t see the hd springs when I bought mine or would have gotten them. Too many other projects going on the buy HD’s and swap them, atleast for now.

In the picture above you can tell the back is clearly lowered than the front. This picture was taken with the air bags at around max, meaning it brought it up 1-2inches.
