Fender lights constantly on

JTJeff84 , Try what jeepsasaurus stated. Set your parking brake and see if they go out.
If they don’t go out maybe a battery reset will help? Aside from that maybe a dealer trip is needed.

A dealer trip to fix what should be on anyway? Oh they'll get a kick out of that.

Spend $200 to' fix' with a tazer what isn't broken?

BTW - on my 2022, in the book it says they are on when in any gear other than P, N (or maybe R), anyway, mine are on even in park. Sure made it easy checking the lights when I put on my snow plow and was testing things out.
Mine are on, never off, as long as it's running or in run position, even in park.
Obviously, there was a change for 2022 as the DRLs on mine don't follow the book.
Since it's not broken, there's nothing WRONG with the lights, I won't bug the dealer only to be told "that's the way it is"...........

Spending $200 to mod something beyond its factory setting is what he wants to do. The tazer mini will come in handy when he changes tire size etc. change rear camera functions like turning on with turn signals…. And the list goes on.

We should be here giving him advice that works instead of stating the obvious.

If he wants to spend big bucks to make his truck less safe to OTHERS on the road, I guess I should be glad the location isn't Iowa.
Spending money to make a vehicle less safe on the road (especially for others) just defies logic...... but it's his truck.

Adding functionality, safety things like the backup camera on turns makes sense (but then one can always use MIRRORS when making a turn instead of looking away from the road to the center of the dash) but removing safety functionality?

Whatever.

Sometimes there's just no logic out there.

His is a 2021.
mine is a 2022.
Book says DRLs will be on when headlights are on when low beams are NOT on and when transmission is shifted to any position other than park.
Well, guess what.......... mine are on in PARK. And that makes sense as far as visibility to other drivers.

I inserted a harness into my fender lights to trigger the snow plow lighting. I figured oh, this is going to be fun as I'll have to have a mirror in front of the truck, shift out of park and see if the DRLs come on.
The DRL driver line was hot regardless.
So I guess the book didn't catch up with a running change.
It's very possible a change was made to make these compliant with some other country, reduce the already huge number of differences between USA and foreign sales builds.
I wonder if Jeep didn't figure - hey, we can comply with other countries and simply make them on at all other times, regardless, and not have to worry about where it's going.
It hurts nothing other than obviously annoy one owner.
Studies suggest if he's a typical owner, shutting off DRLs completely, meaning they are NEVER on, will save $3.00/year.

But in this case - it's not a "preference" or opinion - it's a prevention of at least some accidents.
He's annoyed by them (and that's all it is) while stats show they do prevent at least some accidents - ironically, more involving light trucks. Hmmmm.
That's not an opinion, it's a fact borne out by studies.
The safety latches on hoods are annoying as hell, I think I'll take mine off. It's an extra step that serves no purpose.

Read previous replies. There's a reason DRLs are designed to stay on during the day. You could always call Jeep and ask them why they made their daytime running lights stay on during the day, but you might not like their reply either.

In all seriousness though, what's the issue you're trying to solve? Is it just aesthetics? Or is there something functional you're trying to achieve?

Why is there a way to "turn it off" when it doesn't work? It is aesthetics. I just don't like the look.

If I remember correctly (maybe I don't), the setting in the head unit turns off the fender DRLs but not the halos in the headlights.

Do you leave your headlights on auto or turn them to on/off each time? I wonder if that makes a difference.
