Finally got away for a few hours and installed the Synergy brace and track bar. I have a JTR with Mopar lift, Falcon 2.2 stabilizer and 37/13.5-20 tires on 20x10 rims. I didn’t think I had any steering issues, just normal solid axle play, but unless it is the placebo affect, it feels tighter and less darty. I wanted the brace given the extra stress from the wheels and my heavy foot.

From the lift, the driver side wheel was 1/2” further out than the passenger side. Once the stock track bar was removed, I rocked the jeep and it evened right out, but then the steering wheel was off about 10 degrees to the right. A couple of turns of the drag link adjuster (bottom turning towards the front) and it was perfectly centered. Checked my toe and it was perfect. Chalk test on the front set tires at 33 psi and she drives like a dream!

Factoid,

So in your opinion. Did you feel a difference?. I have a 2020 with a 2.5 mopar lift and it gets sloppy about 65 mph and up. Hoping this can help it out. Been researching it. Thanks.

Alx, I would love to say it is the secret elixir to all that ails your steering, but I don’t think that is true. Getting sloppy at 65 sounds like a combination of toe and tire psi. What size tires are you running with your lift?

I have a heavy foot and do 85 regularly on the highway going to work. It drives perfectly and after the brace and track bar doesn’t wander and feels more solid. If you have truly isolated your loose steering to the box, meaning when you observe the pitman arm and someone slowly turns the steering wheel, the steering wheel moves a few inches before the pitman arm moves, then this brace will not help other than make it feel more secure and smoother.

I’m running heavy wheels and 37/13.50-20 tires and abuse it. I felt the additional bracing and ability to center the axel were important, but I can’t tell you how much improvement is from centering the axle vs. how much is from locking the steering box to the frame.

Mark,

I appreciate you taking time to reply. I am running 35 - 12.50 tires on 20 inch wheels. I should have been more detailed in my reply. I only really see it getting sloppy when on the highway and when the rig hits some bumpy areas. I have to focus and correct it. I figured its normal since its lifted. Although I know it will never drive like a car. Was hoping something will at least help. Will definitely check the steering box movement.

I would look at your wheel offset. Read about tramlining it’s a very common problem in the VW and stance community.

I had a ton of issues when I ran a zero offset wheel on my last race car.

just a quick glance at you picture they look like they have some decent offset

not saying that’s you issue but it’s always good to learn more
