First time Jeep owner. Recently upgraded to a 2020 Gladiator Overland from an ‘06 Honda Pilot and I’m loving this! I know nothiing about Jeeps and have no desire to mod it (outside of tube doors in the summer) or take it off-roading. Just wanted a truck that looked cool
.
The vehicle has 35s on it and sits super high, so I assume it has a lift kit installed(?) Also, based on what I’m seeing about regearing with 35s and what gears people frequently run in when driving, I assume it wasn’t regeared(?). I hit 8th every now and then but it will drop to 6th on inclines. I would say most of the time it’s running in 7th when at a steady 50mph+. I’ve read a ton of forum posts about if you ‘should’ regear with 35s on 3.73, but I don’t see it ever mentioned if it’s harmful or potentially damaging to the vehicle if you don’t. This is my daily driver and I plan to ride it until the wheels fall off. Trying to learn if regearing will extend the life any, and if so, would it be worth the $3000-4000 I was quoted from a local shop.

. If you're struggling on the hills , going back to 33s would be cheaper than a regear. Jeeps aren't the most reliable vehicles on the planet to begin with, but a lot of the problems we suffer through were created by our own modifications. If you're not looking to mod it or take it off road then the closer it is to stock the more reliable and cheaper it will be to maintain. I'm CERTAIN you could find someone to swap you their rims and tires for yours hahah. Sweet looking truck though.
