Hello ?

Took my 2020 Ram 1500 Limited in for an oil change last October and traded it on a whim for a Gobi Gladiator Mojave. No research or thought put into it just complete impulse buy. Immediately regretted it and tried to return it. No luck. Decided to make a go of it for a few months, took it on Jeep trails with my wife and had a BLAST but ultimately never fell in love with it as a daily driver. I wanted to upfit it but I was constantly overwhelmed by the options. Traded it back in for another half ton, this time a GMC Sierra Denali. Took an absolute financial bath on it.

About a week ago my local dealer had an awesome Sting Gray Gladiator Rubicon out front that was already upfitted. All the fun we had Jeeping came back to me and all the plans we had as a family involving the Jeep came to mind. Things have been going well in business so I decided to buy it - not as a daily driver but as a fun car.

I’ve already pulled the doors and top off, didn’t even do that with my last one

Already planning lots of adventures with the family. It’s already got a lift, winch, and big tires. Any must haves? Planning to make it stick this time

First must have is a real off-road training session (if you have never had one). Learn what these things can do! Second must have is wheel time. Once you spend a lot of time with these things as designed (off road), you will not believe how great they really are.

Congrats on the purchase, yours looks AMAZING!

Love the title of this. Makes me think about local sports talk Hey Mike, first time long time…. “who the hell is Dabo Sweeney?! We need a real coach if we are ever going to get back to glory at Clemson!” “So they are gonna go with this 6th round pick and dump drew Bledsoe? Same ol pats.”

Congrats on the new ride! That is my favorite color of all the Gladiators. And your post title is great, coming from a recovering talk radio junkie...

Sharp new Rubicon, welcome back to the family.? Your former JT looked good too, I would have jumped on a Mojave if it had been out when I got mine even though I wanted a Max-Tow Sport S in Gobi. Mine is my new tow vehicle for my T.T and D.D.

Just enjoy it thoroughly no matter what. When you realize and accept that it is a high maintenance vehicle, not unlike any enthusiast sports/collector car, then you can set your inhibitions free. They aren't as reliable and cheap to run as a honda or toyota, but they are far more fun. Rarely do people say nice X when talking about other vehicles, but almost always you will see people turning their heads and giving you thumbs up when driving the jeep.

I daily drive mine, and really don't like to daily it so much, but nothing makes me happier than driving the Jeeps (I also have an '05 TJ Wrangler)

Another big word of advice to get and keep you and your family engaged in the Jeep, is to look into and participate in Jeep events. You probably have a local Jeep club that regularly has get togethers, such as dinners, trailrides, etc.; got to a few a year, or as often as you can... the enthusiasm and comradery you will experience there will really get the Jeep culture to get the hooks in you! Most people at the Jeep clubs will give the shirt off their backs if you needed it...

Jeeps are not just a vehicle, they are truly a lifestyle and a passion.

What didn't you like about the first Jeep that kept it from being a daily driver?
