Ya know, back when I had my JL I had something similar happen to me - and I even posted about it on the JL forum here. but with a bottle cap or something. Well, dummy gets a Gladiator and doesn't stuff enough rags and such to block the hole at the bottom of the center console between the front seats and I drop the key fob and of course it lands between the seats. You know where this is going....
I reach to get it only to push it underneath the center console. UUUGGGHHHH..... Hoping that it just slid underneath the carpet I must have had 5 or 6 friends searching under the seats and carpet. .... Nope.....
So I'm thinking either take the panels off the center console (there's little plastic covers in the front and back that hide the bolts), remove the seat and hope, or take it to the dealer and wonder (and curse) who designs an interior that this can happen?
So I opt to try to find the socket to take the driver's seat out and hope. The bolts that hold the seat in (in case you're interested) can be removed using a 10mm 12 point socket.
So I get a flashlight and look through the hole between the center console and the floor and I can see then damn thing in there. I try to shove my hand between the seat on the passenger side and can almost grab it. So I take the passenger seat bolts off and move the seat just a little (there's wires hooked underneath the seat for heated seats and probably the sensor to tell if someone is sitting in it).
I get my neighbor's daughter who is like 23 or so and has little hands (doesn't hut that she's cute too) and after about 5 minutes manages to pull it out.
That could have been bad. So I take a few more black rags and stuff them in the hole on both sides and pray that doesn't happen again.
That sucked.
