I happened on a local craigslist deal I couldn't pass up. A 2015 never installed Aries Trailchaser aluminum bumper for a JK for $250. Guy had apparently sold it a long time ago to a friend to put on his truck but I suspect his friend never paid so he finally dumped it.
Even with extra brush bars and modular end caps it was only about 50 pounds. I dumped the end caps to frame width and kept center brush bar. Bought JK-JL bumper adapter plate from my local Jeep shop and mounted it up.
I still need to get or make a winch mount plate and address recovery points. Aries sells some D-Rings with a backing plate that mount in the elongated holes in the face, but I'd prefer to maybe cut away and reshape that area to fit frame horn mounted points. I don't trust the aluminum bumper plate alone for much of a pull. (Aries claims 9000lbs but I don't see how except for the steel version)
Weighs about 40 pounds as is or similar to the OEM plastic bumper with steel backing.
