Jeep Gladiator Flat Fender Mods.... 1665969915589

Now I want something similar.....
https://www.ebay.com/itm/353762489745

I found this link.... could powder coat to match Gobi.

How flimsy are the stock fenders?
Would I have to fab up supports?
Thinking I could cut out my fenders.
Install liners.....
use the blackouts like turn signals and running lights....

Suggestions?

Want to cut the fenders down a bit anyway. Got full flex on 35s. May lose a bit with the 37s.
Wanted low center of gravity and still capable off road.

Well now thats different

You have two piece fenders with a fender chop it should look close to the pic you posted.

If you want extra stiffness after you cut the fenders, get some 6mm stainless screws and nutserts to replace the white clips. With the nutserts in my fenders are basically as stiff as stock except the very bottom edge which bends a little.

Thank you! This was the type of advice I was hoping for.

That pic reminds me of the J8 used by militaries around the world. It’s not as it has coils in the rear. I would LOVE a J8 with its front coils and rear leaf springs.

Funny you mention that! People thought I was crazy when I stretched my TJ frame at the firewall and installed coilovers on front with Waggy leafs on the rear (pushed axle back about 3-4”). Of course it had D60/14 bolt with 38’s. It was fun but too crazy to keep as a daily. Fun times!

Based on my user name you can guess I am a fan of that combo.

I like a nice blend of subtle custom touches to factory stuff

so you drop 45K for a new jeep strip out 15k on amenities and then spend 20k on custom work.

It's interesting don't get me wrong but the math is funny.

I paid 35 for a Jeep...and I do my own work. When you start with a Sport S you don't strip much out.
Plus, last time I checked, you aren't paying for it.
