Flat tow behind RV: Base plate or new bumper?

Wanting to set up for flat towing behind our RV. Last toad was a Ram 1500, so only option was a base plate. I’d love to get recommendations for a flat tow rated bumper with a winch mount!

I flat tow using a Rockhard 4x4 aluminum bumper with a winch mount. I have the adapters for a Roadmaster tow bar. The setup is clean and works great. The fitment is superb and it’s an easy install.

Nice!! Glad to hear it worked for the Mojave. I have been looking at the Aluminum one as well. Just picked up a gently used BlueOx tow bar set-up yesterday off of CL. just need the bumper now.

Following... I also want to flat tow my Mojave. Would love to see some Rockhard bumper setups and know what wiring harness and brake system y'all are using.

I currently have an LOD bumper on my Mojave. I decided on the bumper mount bc I already had the bumper and didn’t want to spend the extra $$$ on a base plate.

I also got some frame tie-in brackets for added security and peace of mind.

Heard great things about the bumper being used for towing.

We go both ways: on my wife's 2022 JLU we use a Blue Ox base plate, mated to our NSA Ready Brute Elite tow bar; on my 2020 JT we use a Rugged Ridge Spartan bumper with Rock Hard adapters bolted through the bumper to the frame, mated to the same NSA tow bar. Both methods work great, although we need to use a 6 inch drop hitch on the motorhome to get the tow bar level on the wife's JLU.

Rockhard Aluminum here as well. Love it, works very well. have towed 1000's of miles with it.

I use the NSA tow bar and ready brake as well. I asked this in another thread but this might be a better thread for my question. I don’t want to change my baseplate and hookups I have now, but will an aftermarket winch bumper still leave my existing baseplate and hookups usable? Seen too many threads on RVers forums about the d rings failing and a lot of the bumper manufacturers say they are not for towing anyway.
