I was just on a really long road trip, and about 1500 miles from home, the 2H light started to flicker. Then the "Service Transmission" message came on.
It didn't make too much sense that my 6spd would give a service transmission message. I pulled over, looked underneath for anything bad going on, and saw nothing. Listened for noises in the trans at low speed and nothing alarming.
I went on my way and 30 minutes later it happened again. Flickering 2H light for a bit, then "Service Transmission". I noticed if I played with the 4wd shift lever a bit, the 2H light stopped flickering. OK so probably a bad switch or something I thought.
About 15 minutes later, I noticed I was resting my leg against the 4wd lever. I had been driving for about 8 hours and was getting comfortable I guess.
And this was causing the 2H light to start flickering.
Not sure if that helps anyone, but thought I'd share...
