I could totally be convinced it's just a mid gray in most of the pictures. But when it's not, it's just too much.

If only the top half is what it looked like more consistently. Oh well. Makes for an even easier decision to forgo $10k of other add-ons I don't even want or need.

I'm more optimistic about custom Katzkin results such as this: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/katzkin-custom-leather.61558/

The center top of dash - they killed the ability to add mounting grids.... thanks Jeep.
They actually added mounting points up there.
You can see how 67 Designs makes use of them with their rail. Vector, Anvil Overland and BulletPoint all mount to the same spot.

What fun is there in a complete, no mods required vehicle, especially a Jeep? Besides, when you are finished with modding a Jeep, it is time to start over.
That’s what I’m doing, damn it. Going from a 2022 JTR MT to a 24 JTR AT. Poor clutch and age. I’ve been driving MTs since 1965.

I like it. I have removed a lot of the orange accents from my Mojave, still have more to do. Eventually want to respray the orange vent rings, I really do not like the way they look. But the one thing that never bugged me was the orange stitching on the interior. And that new color has really grown on me the more I see it.

Nice pictures. I like the split tray on top of the dash. I also like the rest of the interior improvements. Not sure why there is a bunch of hate, but if I had 8 beers in me I might trade my Mojave for a new one ;)

I have my phone mount on the left side, and then my sunglasses sit up there.
So if I were so fortunate, I'd not have a place for the sunglasses and other stuff we keep in that deeper channel on the dash.

I decided to send my son, a degreed and experienced graphic designer with resume lines including cars.com, Gannett, and other sites, web design and so on.

I think he pretty much summed up some my own thinking on the new Mojave interior colors - mostly when paired with some of the exterior colors.
Here's his response -

That's a loaded question! "Does it work?"

First off, it doesn't look as bad as I was fearing reading the description and then seeing your photos. I can see why there could be a comparison to baby food, but honestly, I'm not seeing it. In dimmer light, it definitely appears more gray, and in sunlight, there is a bit of that olive/army green there. I kind of get what they were going for and in a vacuum I'd say it's "not too bad". The color itself and the orange-ish trim doesn't look too shabby. I kind of dig how "Mojave" looks against it on the seats, for example.

BUT.

The reality is you're trying to appeal to the masses... Jeep masses, sure, but still, more than just a few people. Add to that the fact there are many body color options, and I think your photos in particular highlight my main issue with this color scheme. It just doesn't fit with the vast majority of body colors. It doesn't work with the blue shown there, and it makes the interior look needlessly busy. I see hints of the body blue, the green color, the orange trim, the dark grey panel of the door AND the light gray of the handle. It's just too much, and it doesn't fit.

Sometimes simple works best, and I believe Jeep's audience would likely feel the same, too. The slate/dark gray/black that you mentioned before would be fine. This just frankly feels slapped on, as is, which is not a good look for a special edition. Now...hear me out, if the Jeep itself was rocking an orange type, or army green exterior, this could work. But that's very specific. There's not many pea green/army/green in general schemes for a reason. It just doesn't jive with a lot of things. There's a reason black and gray are used so often, because they are versatile compliments.

tl;dr - The colors themselves aren't terrible in execution, but in this package, it just doesn't work.

Seems to me that's pretty much what he's saying. Works fine with some exterior colors (not others, looks busy with all of the colors inside)

Yup - you got it.

For sure feels like some decisions are made in a vacuum. Not that I would expect them to keep an exterior color for a specific model but the best option they had to go with the interior, is now off the order list….

Sorry, could be dupes and the cats were trying to be really helpful.......... and i took a lot to try to capture different angles, different sunlight and so on. It's a really hard color to define in some ways.

I have a spiderweb shade in mine so can't see the headliner - the front parts are inserts into the panels, I can't even remember what the rear looks like in mine! Wow, that's sad, isn't it?!

This is Mojave - factory headliner on the main top -

You can just see the front panel headliner insert here - like prior years -
