Freedom panel tape?

Never noticed this before. Anybody else have this, looks like a clear protective tape running along the inner seam of the drivers side top panel that sits and seals on the passengers panel.

When I first noticed it, I thought it was developing a crack. Never noticed it before, but I do not remove the panels very often.

I went with a soft top on my '23 JTM............10 seconds to drop the top back or close it up.......fuckin love it

I honestly hate the hardtop/freedom panels on our JLUR. The wife wanted a fully color matched (fenders/top) but she has never had to take the shit off and store it.

That's why I have the BestTop SunRunner. Easy open for some air, and if it rains whilst out, easy close, and easy close when I get to my destination.

I put my Freedom panels in from mid-October to mid-April, then switch back to the SunRunner for the summer.

That's not supposed to be there. I suspect that's one of the early tops Webasto was having hell to get the SMC to stop delaminating.

My '21 JT has the same clear strip in the same location on the driver's freedom panel as well. Factory original hard top, never been messed with.
