SunRider not helpful here - That’s like $800 bucks plus install.

Removing the foam is clever, but it bugs me, that’s protection. I don’t have one to experiment with yet, so I’m useless. My first thought interior roof net.

C’mon folks, flex that collective genius!

It will take you longer to unbox & unwrap the Sunrider than it will to install it.

Price point might be high if that's your only add-on, but many have winches, wheels/tires, suspension, racks, lights, etc.

Or you can just get a Sunrider and do away with the freedom panels
It's a solution, but not for everyone. Ignoring any cost differences, IMO a sunrider soft top is not an ideal solution. It is noisier, less insulative, and doesn't look as nice. It is great for some, but for those of us who prefer to use the freedom panels, the OP and other storage ideas are far better solutions.

I skimmed over the important bit about the kid seats. if there’s no room, you may have to wait until you can pick up a Bestop, maybe you can snag one used for a few hundred off.

I bought mine used on FB market place for $625.00, NIB, just opened. On the Jeep spring through fall then panels are back on for the winter. Install and removal is a couple minutes longer than removing the Freedom Panels. Noise, sure some but even at 90 MPH it is not much louder than the Freedom Panels. It is just wind and road noise at that point, same with pretty much everything else below. I wasn't expecting a Lexus level of sound in a Gladiator. Conversations at say 50MPH non-highway open or closed, no real issues, freeway speeds open, okay it can get to be loud, compared to the Freedom Tops open, a little louder.

Conveince: it is just a no brainer. Again, @Bestop PLEASE offer some color options. At least tan or Saddle Bag brown, would look great with the Sarge Green.

As for storage on board for the Freedom Panels, I can only see something in the bed. In the bag and then in the back seat, then take them out of the back seat is going to get really old quick. They are not terribly heavy, just damn bulky. Then a long trip with a baby, they will end up in the bed anyways.

I don’t endorse or condone this but Subaru brat had the solution. We just need to duplicate.
Maybe mount the kid seats in the bed?

jk. There is no good solution for freedom panels in a jt that doesn’t involve inconvenience.

You are more correct than you think.
Not the seats in the bed though (my Brat didn't have the seats)
The Brat tops stored behind the seats and had straps to hold them back there.
The wingy look flip up was a nice feature too.
