Wow that Rival bumper is nice... You guys have gone and done it again, forced me to buy more jeep parts. Now I have to buy another Mojave skid plate because I donated my skid plate to my wife's JLU.

Did your Mojave skid bolt right up to the JLU? Does your wife's JLU have the Mopar Steel Bumper? Curious to hear your process for doing this; my wife's JLUW has the steel bumper though and I didn't think it would work.

If your wife's JLU has a Steel 3 piece front bumper like the Rubicon, it won't work. My wife has the plastic bumper like the one that came on the Gladiator.
All the mounts should be there to mount a Mojave skid plate, but you would need to use a plastic bumper, aftermarket like the Rival (I am going to buy them for my wife's JLU and My Mojave) or grind some parts of the stock steel bumper where the skid plates hit it ..

Note if your JLU came with a plastic front bumper you will have to buy the mounts and crush nuts, they actually sell a kit with everything.

I had to buy the brackets and crush nuts for my wife's. But I had to buy them anyway because I was putting my Mojave shocks on her JLU... Rides great now!

Thank you for the reply. My wife has the Mopar 3 piece steel bumper taken off a Rubicon. Now that I wrote that I remember attempting to install the Gladiator Rubicon stock skid plate that came on my JTR with plastic bumper and it wouldn't fit. The Mojave silver skid is the same skid on the Rubicon.

No the Mojave skid plate is different than the Steel Rubicon skid plate. You need a Rubicon skid plate and the bolt kit and it will bolt right up, that is what I did to my Mojave.

The Mojave skid plate doesn't bolt to the bumper, the Rubicon steel skid plate does ...

Heck, the MOPAR steel bumper has no winch plate and looks great with no winch. Can be run as a stubby, too.
"Winch ready" doesn't necessarily mean it has a winch plate, it may just mean a winch will fit if you install a plate.

Tons of options.
What Bill said.

That was my previous bumper on my JTM. To even cut more weight I removed the end caps

Let me clarify as this has been debated many times on here.

The JTR comes stock with plastic front bumper and a steel skid plate, painted black. I have one.
The JTM comes stock with plastic front bumper and a steel skid plate, painted silver. I have one of these too. These two skid plates are exactly the same. Only the paint is different. Neither will bolt to a Mopar steel bumper without modification.

The Mopar 3 piece steel bumper requires a different skid plate on either a JT or JL, one that bolts to the bottom of the bumper and is bigger. I think the wrong information gets out because some people call the Mopar 3 piece steel bumper a Rubicon steel bumper.

But the Mojave X comes with steel bumper and skid plate like used on Rubicon with the steel bumper option. Just thought I'd clea.... I mean, confuse things a bit.

Two skid plates. One for use with Mopar steel bumper - an option on Rubicon, the other skid plate for use with plastic bumper.

Sorry, I meant the JLU Rubicon with steel front bumper with steel skid plate.

But good to know that the JT Rubicon comes with the same skid plate in black, that saves me from having to paint it!

I definitely prefer the Mojave steel skid plate over the steel skid plate for the steel 3 piece bumper. I put that on my Mojave, now I want to go back to the Mojave one, it looks meaner ..

Yeah I’ve been surfing the internet high & low but haven’t seen exactly what I have in mind yet.
I got the steel "winch ready" bumper. But even that requires the winch plate and the winch for like 800 more bucks including decent winch. I have the plate will do the winch likely next year but one thing you can do with the steel bumper is to put the bar on it. And if you like take the "wings" off to change it up a bit. My first thought (and I do want a winch) was the rough country https://www.roughcountry.com/product/jeep-full-width-trail-bumper-10585 which you can find for as little as 600 bucks INCLUDING THE LIGHTS. https://www.roughcountry.com/product/jeep-full-width-trail-bumper-10585

https://www.amazon.com/RockTrix-Bla...4&sprefix=gladiator+bumper+bar,aps,201&sr=8-3 Or the shorter one. And take the wings off. So, there is quite a bit you can do short of a winch and you get a "steel" bumper between you and misfortune...

You can also cheaply put a bumper bar on them with six screws

They also have non winch versions for like 450 to 500. https://www.roughcountry.com/product/jeep-full-width-trail-bumper-10585 I wouldn't get the kitchy radiator cover but to each their own.

I put a rear RC bumper on my Ram 2500 from Rough Country including the lights for like 550... After a year and a half it still looks good except for a couple screws for the lights rusting. My installer swears by them for value and overall quality. He doesn't like they are Chinese made, and that he says he occasionally will see some weld issues and that the powder coating may have to be redone after about four years vs some more expensive ones. But, they are so inexpensive while still getting core good quality, he says, you can do that and still save huge bucks over most others. And if he re-coats them he says they will be good for at least five.

I got a fab fours for my front on my 2500 Ram and it wasn't 595. I decided to finally stick with the OEM steel bumper and they look good and were made for them so... But I'm still talking 800 bucks to put a winch on it...
