Last year at Moab I noticed all the bolts that attach the front drive shaft to the front axle came out. I had to finish a trail in 2wd. They did not break, but simply vanished, I put new bolts in and all was well.

Today I was checking things over before another trip next month and noticed this seal on the same shaft, but on the differential side is torn.

Any ideas on replacing the seal?

I can find a part number for the shaft, but just the seal needs replaced. I'm assuming at least that it can be replaced, any help would be great, Thanks

In my opinion, I wouldn’t touch that seal for the life of me. I’d replace it with a upgraded driveshaft.
But hey it’s your rig.

To get the seal you might have to get the complete joint. Might be the only way they come.

There used to be "rebuild kits" that were a boot and bag of grease for the joints......... at least it was that way years ago.

Nevermind, I tried to fix it and made everything worse, broken bolts and scratching my head for what to do now

definitely no fun. Sounds like a new shaft is in order. If you have a lift or planing on one, seek getting an aftermarket shaf
. Or search out a driveline shop in your area too.

You have any powertrain warranty left? I would feign ignorance and unless your underside shows obvious excessive trail rash, I would submit a warranty claim. The bolts coming out should have been a warranty claim then and that probably exacerbated the issue.

I ordered a new Dana shaft, I'm relatively rural and to get a vehicle and drop it off at the dealer is very inconvenient.

can you not just replace the cv joints on these drive shafts like on the older jk jeeps?

AFAIK it is all or nothing thing. Aftermarket repair kits have not caught up to the current JL/JT OEM driveshafts. Same thing with the rear driveshaft center bearing
