I recently did a 2 hour drive to Indiana mostly highway, cruise control set at 70. By the time I got back home my dashboard says I averaged 21 mpg. Thats on a sport S with 8speed, hardtop, rubicon shocks/springs and 35" tires. Around town Iam getting 18-18.5.

Sport S....with max tow or standard towing package? Makes difference on your gear ratio.

I have a stock Mojave with 8 speed. I was seeing 14-15 mpg (15 was granny driving). I noticed my rpms never dropping below 2k. So I started checking the gear manually when I reached cruising speeds and realized the transmission would sit and stay in 6th while driving 45-55. I spent 2 manually shifting to make sure if get to 8th, then I reset the mpg reading. I am now getting 17-19, depending on how the lights are stacking up.

Rubicon here. With a bed full of tools and a winch and bumper I was getting 20hwy and 17-18 city on the stock MTs. Now on 37s I get about 16-18 combined..

My truck is completly stock Auto trans, no tires or lift.
I figure if there was something wrong with the engine I would get a code but noy getting any codes either.
Try and old fashioned milage test, fill it up, take down the mileage, and gallons. Run it to empty and do the math.

I have only 400 miles. 2" lift 35" Falkens. Im getting around 16.3 mpg no highways yet. I believe it will improve after break in. With my old truck I saw a great increase after about 12k. I was averaging 21.5 mpg.

Reading some of the MPG threads and the numbers folks are claiming makes me wonder if something is wrong with my JTR. @8000 miles and still stock... 16ish overall average is the best I have gotten...

On the interstate I am lucking to even reach that ....i actually do better in town.

Just not seeing how on earth anyone is getting in the 18-19s...let alone low 20s.

I know I am not that much of a led foot.

Getting ready to take a trip end of the month from Orlando to Oak Island NC....so I might reset everything and do manual calculations. But I fully expect ~16mpg on the high side.

I do get 20 or better on the average, highway, here in the SW desert and hills 2000 to 6000 ft elevation). I have 33" tires but each weighs 10.3 lb. less than the Rubi 33s, and mine are 1.2" narrower so I expect them to be somewhat better for mpg. Of course, the max tow has 4.10s like your Rubicon.

I am one reporting 18-19 overall. I live in S. Florida, where it is flat, flat, flat. Usually the only hilis I encounter are overpasses.

When folks say "highway" what does that mean in terms of MPH? I doubt its interstate speeds.

my local Hwy speeds are about 50-55 mph, and I get an average of 21.5 mpg when not working from home and have to go into work, 80% hwy driving (52 miles round trip), drops 5-7mpg in city for extended periods
