Hey, last week I traded my gasser JT for an ecodiesel. A million hours of work later the old one is back to stock and the new one is almost outfitted with all the stuff I removed from the gas JT.

I'm pretty sure it already been discussed but the search function gave no results.

I have a metalcloak true dual rate 3.5 (gas version). On the gas jt it was riding stiff. Now that I installed it on the diesel, it rides a lot smoother due to the weight of the engine, and sits a bit lower.

I already ordered 1" spacers to compensate, and will see how it goes from there. Anybody changed their springs for diesel springs and seen a major improvement?

Also, It sits pretty close to the bump stops with the same setup as the previous jt ( metalcloak upper stoppers, and 2 pucks ont the bottom), I was wondering if the tube where the upper stopper is attached, is longer on the diesel, It seems to anyway, anyone can confirm?

Pics or it didnt happen right? The black one is the new one

I took a picture of my front left bump stop as it sits right now. Pretty sure the tube is longer

Looking at this pictures, id say they are much shorter on the 3.6

Is the top pic the gas or diesel ? If diesel, which model ?
Im not sure about length so I can't answer your question, but on my JTRD, my bumps look like your second pic.

The top picture is the diesel, the bottom one seems shorter.

Will measure that next week when i'll install the 1" spacers.

The tube is longer on the diesel, you will have less up travel.

I believe it’s about 1 1/4 inches longer. Same on the 392 JL I’ve heard.

diesel springs will have different rates as well.

I run shorter bumps, and a small spacer on my Mopar lift with 35” tires.

You should be able to order the diesel spacers from MetalCloak for their diesel kit. To my knowledge MetalCloak uses the same springs in the gas and diesel models.
