All,

I have a Diesel and they have not come out with a kit yet.

I would like to run dual batteries in parallel without their isolator nor any of the other electronics. Reason being is to have more capacity with a large stereo.

Has anyone done a similar setup? I imagine just the bracket would be significantly cheaper than the 600$ kit?

I have looked around - yes, I have a gasser, but in the process, I also see other stuff - for a tray thinking that who knows, I may wish to run two identical batteries than what these come with. 2 that are matched will last longer and charge better anyway.
Anyway, the tray alone through Genesis is a whopping $250 bucks. Ouch!
Someone could surely come up with something at less than half of that. There's got to be metal workers, fabricators, whatever, who could put one together in short order and allow two fair sized batteries to be setup on top.

I don't have plans myself of changing things around, but am always looking for ideas or what-ifs.
If the batteries were matched, you could frankly just charge then in parallel with no extra electronics. Ground from one battery, and alternator output to the + of the other battery (as opposed to charging both through the terminals of just one)
