Haven't seen any ducks here in Central Iowa either. But I have seen a few birds fly by.

I’ve got a tan low-end Jeep with few external mods (at least for now). It also spends 95% of its time parked in front of my house. I doubt I’ve ever been considered duck-worthy.
I did the same Alan. Don't sell your truck short. I did like you except I put my Alloys off my 2016 Wrangler on mine when I traded in. I haven't been ducked either. but still hoping. :fingerscrossed:

Yeah I don't get it. You go out in public and then get upset if someone compliments your vehicle? It would maybe be a different story if you were parked behind your house and found one... or that guy who talked about a stranger literally kicking his tires.

I keep seeing this $50k figure thrown around a lot too. I guess maybe it's because I only paid $37k for my Jeep?

(desperately wanting to get ducked)
I would think of ducking you, but then I think of how much an iron pipe upside head would feel.

I see that all the time on Facebook about Jeeps being $60k and too expensive. Guess they don’t realize you don’t have to tick EVERY option box ??ā€ā™‚
Kinda kicking myself sometimes for not ordering a base Rubicon for not much more than my Sport S. Just about got hosed on resale on my trade-in, but still got what I wanted. Maybe next time.

Even though I got one this winter, never knew what it was until just now seeing this thread. Certainly didn't make my day at the time. You may think it's cute but not everyone wants somebody leaving crap on their 50K Jeep. Jeep waves and a 'Nice Jeep' comment are great but show some respect to other folks, don't touch what ain't yours.
So, I've ducked about a dozen jeeps now. Always put the duck in the gap of the driver's wiper and stick my business card under. I feel bad that you are so angry. The point is for one jeeper to tell another that its okay, and that the jeepers care for one another.

I duck all jeeps I see parked in public parking.

I duck every single wrangler or gladiator I park near. Stock or not. It brightened up my mood when I got my first one, immediately ordered 100 pack on Amazon and went to town. I just write duck duck Jeep in sharpie on the bottom. I don’t social media at all so I have no idea how people feel about it around here. If you get offended because someone placed a 1/4oz plastic duck on your Jeep then put the roids down and have a look in the mirror, something else is bothering you in there. ā€œDon’t touch what ain’t yoursā€, well technically I didn’t. I touched the duck, no hands on your precious.

Y'all are kinda proving the point that you care more about what YOU think is cute than actually showing any respect to a fellow Jeeper or their rig.
Respect? What is disrespectful about leaving something incredibly benign sitting on someone’s Jeep? If you don’t like it throw it away, drop it on the ground, light it on fire for all I care. If you think your ā€œrigā€ is so special that a silly game of leaving rubber ducks on door handles has somehow injured anything or disrespected your work of art then get over yourself. It’s just people trying to spread a little joy, a little comrade.

Got my first one this weekend. Came out of a restaurant after a birthday lunch, and this made my day. Just love that people do this. It's my first Jeep ever, and I'm loving the wave, the conversations when I pull up to the diesel pump, and now the duck! Feels like I got adopted a new family.

I would venture a guess... far more folks appreciate the respect their jeep garnered by being ducked. Than your Chad and Karen way of thinking. The whole point of being ducked is respect. What some cultures do to show respect are vile in others. Example the handshake. Even before Covid. Evidently you are one of the offended.

Yeah. My kids and I met one of you the other day. It was a great experience that went from him yelling, to me telling him to calm down, to him threatening to ā€œbeat my assā€, to me telling him to stay back as I put my kid Behind me, to him grabbing a pipe out of his trunk, to me giving him the choice to walk away with his life or eat jacketed lead through his face and get a chalk outline scratched across the pavement in his memoriam. That would give him what? About 2 days of historical significance to less than a dozen people and half a column on page 7 of the news paper’s ā€˜local section’. Im eternally grateful he made the choice to walk away, because the alternative certainly wasn’t something i would have wanted to do had the choice been up to me.

Stop and think about that for a second- A dude reacted in a way that almost cost him his life, over a 5yo kid tryin to tell him ā€œnice jeep, have a nice dayā€. That is just not a rational or normal human reaction to something like this.

Have you ever considered that if that’s your reaction to someone saying ā€œhey man, nice jeep. Have a great day.ā€ that it’s actually you that’s the problem? Cuz having reactions like that, to something like that, is the very definition of being a fucking dick. Normal, well adjusted, rational people don’t react or think that way.

And the sister of that lunacy is exactly what you just said- A rubber duck with a note that says ā€œhave a great dayā€ is a sign of disrespect? Are you for real? Let me help you real quick, scooter- you're just not that hard, so lighten up. That type of mindset only comes from emotional development problems, and is in no way rational. Normal people just don’t think that way. It indicates to me that you possibly have some sort of stunted emotional development or some type of anger management issue/insecurity/ā€œtough guyā€ persona, and you may find counseling helpful.

Remember. Having an irrational emotional temper doesnt make you dangerous. It makes you reckless. And that can damn sure get you an impromptu appointment with someone who actually is dangerous and end up with you getting your boarding pass to whatever the after life is stamped ā€œpaid in fullā€. Is a fucking rubber duck actually worth that? C’mon man. No way it is.

I dont let the kids duck anymore based on that experience, but I say Just take the duck, let it brighten your day, and let it brighten someone else’s. If people like me and @Snzzbry_Ovrlnd can have a smile over it, I’m confident someone like you can.

btw- nice jeep, have a great day. ?
