I'm thinking about upgrading my Lugalo and pee bottle to the next level. Composting or urine separating toilets seem to be the rage for tiny houses and van builds, but they cost $1000. Of course I can't spend that much and have to figure out how to do it on the cheap. There's lots of options for DIY'ers but I cam across this site that has most of the parts.

I carry a boxio toilet when I go.works great. Easy to clean. Especially good for family camping.

Just like camping at home!

Missouri was hit pretty hard last Friday by tornadoes. A tornado barely missed my home, but it managed to take out electricity, internet, and cell phone coverage for thousands of households, including mime.

5 gallons of gas, a generator, electric power supply, and our fireplace kept our family going for a few cold days without power.

I bought a 2000w pure sine wave generator last year as we’ve had some short duration power outages as well in order to keep some lights on and our two fridges cold..Used it last week when a utility contractor blew the line in our S/ D.

During a power outage a few years ago, I ran down to the local hardware store and bought this 3000watt inverter generator. It's small enough to lift around, fits nicely in the camper, runs really quietly (outside), and is fuel efficient. Running my large home Fridge, box freezer , lights and TV, it lasted all night on it's fuel tank.

I've become a fan of small electric skillets, since I don't like flames inside my camper. They work great with a small power supply. Instead of a lot of dishes, I just wipe out the non stick surface with a paper towel or wet nap when I'm done. It's a burner, pan, pot, skillet with a lid all in one. They are a lot less clean up. I just saw this 600 watt one at Walmart last night for $13.

Moved from Dallas to Utah and I don't miss the hail and tornadoes one bit.
Yep, St.Louis is a great place to pick up cheap hail damaged vehicles.

Guess this is the last night I will need the heater for the season. I had the diesel heater on the lowest setting and outside it was 50 degrees. Inside was cozy.

Looks like it’s going to be a great day.

Were basically repeating the trip we took last year but a month earlier and in reverse order as we froze our a$$ off then but the temps look much better now.

Post some good pics along your route! I haven't ventured west of Wyoming or Colorado with my rig yet.

Ran into a fellow Overlander and Mountain Biker this morning. He’s been living in his truck for 6 months and slowly working his way from California eastward. And I thought I used my camper a lot!

Two things I hate about my Gladiator when camping!!

1) The headlights turn on every time I open a door. This will really piss off those nice tent campers next to you in the middle of the night.

2) The damn horn sounds every time I lock my truck. Those poor campers are really upset at me now.

Solution: I don’t know why I waited so long to fix these problems. All you have to do is go into settings and turn off the horn when you lock the door and change the proximity lights to “0” and all is fixed!!

Sorry to those of you who I’ve woken up😬
