Man, I really want a wedge canopy/camper. When I come across the right deal on Facebook or craigslist, I’m going to jump on it.
Not the right thread for this question BUT, what was the deal with getting the black grille? Was it a stand alone option or did it come with some specific package?Couldn’t make it to the mall.![]()
Black grill comes standard on the Willys model and is an option on most of the other models. I am going to rattle can plastidip mine black, so it might hold up a little better and could be peeled off if I screw it up. You could also keep an eye out for a stock grill you can repaint since some people like the look of aftermarket grills. Not the right thread for this question BUT, what was the deal with getting the black grille? I ask because the first Stingrey JTR I saw that made me REALLY want the same had one. I bought a used 2020 from Carvana in July 2021 and now have 40,000 miles on it with not a single problem but your pic reminds me how much I really dig the black grille. I've considered rattle canning mine but I know it would chip, etc and I'd be annoyed by it. Nice truck, Mr. Jeep!
Ah, I hadn't thought about Plasti-Dip. Good idea so I can always touch it up or peel it off to make it stock again if I want.Black grill comes standard on the Willys model and is an option on most of the other models. This picture is insane. How did you capture those stars? Do you have a certain camera/camera settings?
Current flagship phones can take an OK milky way shot on a tripod if you have dark skies. But this one is a Sony camera, f/1.4 lens, ISO2500, 6 seconds, tripod obviously, only a little editing of the sky and foreground but single click, no stacking. The main thing is get to dark skies and preferably some elevation (5000 ft here and 2 hours south of a big city)This picture is insane. How did you capture those stars? Talked to a local guy befor I started, he recommended staying out of it fir a few more weeks. He said the water leave was a bit high and the rock were still to cold. Took him for his word and just by passed it. All the ud on my truck was from long canyon road.Did you drive up Mickeys Hot Tub?
Ah ok! The wheel base on the Gladiator makes it feel like nothing if you ever attempted or have seen it done on a shorter vehicle like a TJ. I ran it in October we ended up doing most of the badge trails including Pratchett Canyon.Talked to a local guy befor I started, he recommended staying out of it fir a few more weeks. Wow.. thanks so much for the info. I've been looking into dark sky areas lately just to get a shot like this. I've got a cannon, but this is the second time i'm being suggested sony, so might have to invest in one.Current flagship phones can take an OK milky way shot on a tripod if you have dark skies. Oh, definitely no need for that, your Canon will likely do just fine. Better to spend that money on a faster prime lens (like f/1.8) if you don’t have one. That will help a lot more than switching brands. DM me if you want to get into more detailsWow.. thanks so much for the info.
