17k miles in, needs a new transmission. Pathetic. Jeep Cares is a nightmare. I can forgive a random defective transmission, but cannot get over the lack of concern from FCA over the impact this has had on my ability to 1. Enjoy my vehicle, 2. Enjoy my vacation (which required the use of my Jeep) 3. Get back home feom out of town 4. Get back to work.

Worst experience I've ever had. The amount of time I've spent trying to get them on the phone, then to give a /%$# is ridiculous.

No rental cars here (vacation area during the 4th), they won't arrange that anyways. They cant help w/loaners either.

I hope the 2nd tranny craps out so I can end my relationship w FCA.
The local dealership/service dept has been great. I'm not po'd about the mechanical failure, it happens. It's the service from FCA. Lazy, entitled company.

I'm assuming the AT, as you show you've the max tow package.
What happened?

Pretty cryptic so far - no details, and you aren't going to get corporate responses on a holiday. Things break and stuff happens and what I see is not anything unusual or that would be different with ANY company. It's the risk of travel. I used to work in a shop along I80 and we towed in a number of vacationing families and they just had to find a hotel and deal with it until parts could be had or provisions made.

What are they supposed to do, kiss your a**. Sounds like your getting a new transmission out of the deal so they are doing what they are supposed to do. There is a warranty that you can buy separate that gives you towing and rental car, if you didn't get it then that's on you.

It happened Tues. They don't respond, I have to chase down everything. I don't really have an issue with the warranty, it's with the Jeep Cares nonsense. Dismissive attitude. I don't expect them to kiss my ass, why would someone think that? An overly defensive fanboy maybe?

Just calm down a little. It's probably limited staffing and holiday week. They are normal pretty easy to deal with from personal experiences in the past. If you got a good dealership handling the issue then you will be alright. That's the main thing, make sure the dealership knows their crap because the one I use normal handles everything and they should give you loaner.

Whoa - he's being logical and calm. It's up to DEALERS to make things right. THEY diagnose, THEY determine need, THEY order parts.

FCA isn't FCA any longer.

It is now Stellantis. Things are probably still a mess from turnover.
I'm working at a Stellantis plant now, they're converting a transmission assembly plant into an engine assembly plant. The company people on site are pretty clueless as the specs are FCA specs and the Sellantis people have no clue what is and isn't right.

That type of thing usually is a top down problem.

So work with your dealer and don't sweat the Corporate BS because you'll give yourself headaches.

Pretty well said - and combine that with the shortages of staffing in some areas and shortages of parts - and shortages of TRANSPORATION. A friend is a truck driver - boy the tales he has to tell - some places can't find drivers to deliver parts!
The dealer is the first point of contact anyway - you always work through the dealers first and then escalate as needed. But that all takes time - and people. Thousands of people have vacations messed up every year from breakdowns.

Don't these all come with that warranty for 3 years/36000 miles, with Jeep Wave? Mine did, but not sure if that's something they started for 2021s. But then, even our certified pre-owned one has roadside and car rental included.

Yes- Jeep sent a Wave brochure I put in the glovebox - mine is a December 2019 built 2020. 3 years, 36,000 miles.

Thanks all, I probably could use a little diffusing right now because my planned week holidaytrip has been pretty disappointing - unable to go trailriding or even to the store without an uber, unable to get Jeep Cares to "care", lol. I'm not really that upset anymore, life's a bitch and all that. But it still isn't really acceptable.

The dealer here has been great thus far and I haven't held them responsible in any way. Want to keep them happy (I need them more than they need me at this point).

Yes, but it doesn't include a loaner beyond a one-day period.

It's in the jeep "cares" agreement info, and I very specifically remember my dealer noting it during my sale last week. I remember thinking "come on, what are the odds I need to worry about that?"

Now I have an idea.

I bought the extended warranty for this reason and this reason only, the loaner car.

It sucks OP, I get it, but stuff happens, it's really nobody's fault just part of life. Try getting your luggage lost and flight canceled on a connecting flight coming home from Europe on a 4th of July weekend. You wanna talk about pain in the ass and not being able to get what you need...times like these either tarnish or shine your character.

It might stipulate a certain amount of days but they always authorize more if your vehicle isn't repaired within that time frame. I'm speaking from experience from another extended warranty I purchased on another Jeep.
