Just put a spool in it and be done! Or just weld the spider gears like they did in the old days.

That's not a car....................
If I had a little (lot) more money. Or didn't spend it on the JT, I'd be able to say my 911 turbo would like to have a word with you. Now that's a car. Make mine air-cooled please.

This is what I found on Google Unless you have a locking or limited slip diff in the rear, only one wheel is powered. This is how an open differential functions. You might have noticed the same behavior when your pushing a stuck car out of the snow, one wheel spinning and the other not moving at all but this was 2011 not sure if cars/trucks changed and since I haven't got stuck in awhile.

Don't tell me you found that crackpot wise-geek or whoever? That's the biggest piece of xxxxx.

Sorry, but the thing still is - both axles receive the same torque. I've spent an entire college semester on drivetrains and that included differentials, not to mention rebuilding many. I know how they function and the video posted before shows it perfectly.
Both are supplied torque. Only if one loses grip is there a difference - but that is in speed, not torque, and it can be either wheel, proving again, both are drive wheels.

I wondered when someone would use google and find something like wisegeek who claims "only one wheel is powered and the computer determines when the other wheel needs power". That actually made me laugh out loud.

Supply the link, please. And explain how I left 2 nice wide black marks across the highway with an open differential if both aren't powered (my car, not my Jeep!)

Link please, and explain how only one wheel gets power when the carrier spiders are both engaged with axle gears (also called side gears).

Bad source. Listen to what is being said here.

Easiest way to prove this is false, open diff cars can leave 2 black marks.
