New to the forum so apologies if my question doesn't properly call out the right terminology at times. Should be receiving my 2020 Overland JT in a few weeks and know already that I want to replace the factory step sides with rock rails. Not as concerned with actual protection. More of an aesthetic thing. Would like to buy Rubi take-offs. Are the bolt patterns the same across all Gladiators? In other words, will the Rubicon factory rock rails fit and Overland? Thanks in advance.

Yes. I put them on mine. Bought them on Craiglist $100
Awesome. Thank you so much Kenneth. Don't see myself looking to bounce off rocks but would like to clean up the lower section of the look. Fairly easy to install with moderate mechanical knowledge I assume? Appreciate you sir.

Yeah, thanks. I would do the same but my wife is only 5'1" and she really needs the steps. My question is a bit more technical: has anyone compared the shear strength of the rock rails to that of the side steps?

I feel your pain Tom. I haven't run it by my wife yet but she's light enough where I can hoist her up there as needed LOL

I took off my stock Rubicon rails...took 2 minutes.

Easy to install in reverse order.

I'd offer them to you but shipping them would be crazy.

Thanks Phred and appreciate the offer. I'm not in a hurry and will be on the hunt locally to save the time and money of shipments. Appreciate the insight!

It's not really a question of being able to get in, it's more a question of being able to do it without help! LOL

Where in SE PA? I'm in Frederick, MD, but not entirely sure I want to pull the steps off.

Bolt patterns the same and if you did want to bounce of some rocks the Rubi rails provide plenty of protection for that as well. I installed a set of Hard Rock Rubi Rail takeoffs on my JKU and they did awesome on Rocks. I wish they made the Hard Rock o es for the JT, I'd buy a set for it.

Thanks a bunch Jamie. Really like the looks of what you've done to yours!

You may want to check out the @ACE Engineering rock sliders. I kept my Rubi Rock Sliders on (I like the look) and installed the Ace Rock Sliders. They use the body mount bolts. Check my build and you can see they stick out about 4-inch and make a nice step for those of us that maybe vertically challenged.

My wife definitely appreciates them!

Looking to sell them?
How much would you be asking? If come pick them up since I’m in NJ.
