Honestly....I'm a Ford guy...diesels to be exact. F-250s, F-150, and Excursions.

The Bronco is a baby SUV. It is absurd to put it in the iconic class of a warfighter GP by war of any comparison. I'm new to the Jeeper world but I have 40 years of military time and I know off-road enemy killers when I see them and nobody would expect someone to be doing that in a freaking Bronco. It screams lattes, lettuce wraps, and Bernie stickers.

My 2004 Excursion LTD 4x4 Diesel, bulletproofed and amped up, frankly, is also embarrassed that anyone would even consider a Bronco when faced with a purchase option.

Don't mean to offend anyone....speaking honestly. Big wheels, cool paint, slick screens do not make a BA vehicle.

It looks like Ford is thinking about a Bronco 'truck' in a few years.

Ford Spotted Benchmarking Jeep Gladiator Pickup Near Detroit Facility
by Brett Foote June 4, 2021, 10:39 am

Back in the summer of 2019, Ford Authority reported that the 2021 Ford Bronco would eventually spawn a pickup truck variant of the SUV. A pickup version of the Ford Bronco pickup would obviously be a natural fit for a vehicle set to do battle with the Jeep Wrangler, which has its own pickup version in the Jeep Gladiator. The Bronco pickup is expected to launch for the 2023 or 2024 model year, which is likely why we spotted Ford benchmarking the Jeep Gladiator near a metro Detroit area facility for the second time.

We know that this Gladiator isn’t just some test vehicle because it’s wearing manufacturer plates, and it was spotted entering a Ford truck facility. But the fact that Ford would want to benchmark the Gladiator pickup is pretty easy to digest given the fact that it’s reportedly working on its own rugged SUV-turned-pickup.

The Bronco pickup will follow essentially the same formula as the Gladiator, likely retaining the Bronco SUV’s overall styling and interior elements, as well as powertrains. Ford will simply replace the cargo area present on the SUV with a pickup bed, which is obviously not as easy as it sounds and requires Blue Oval engineers to integrate the body structure elements into the extremities of the cab, and away from the bed.

Regardless, the boxy lines of the Bronco should translate well to the pickup version, as we can see in these Ford Authority renderings from last year. The biggest question here is whether Ford will put a shorter bed on the Bronco pickup, or opt for a longer unit like the one present on the Gladiator. The tailgate-mounted spare tire seen here likely won’t make it to the production version, however.

Either way, a Bronco pickup makes too much sense not to happen. The Gladiator has been a sales success to date, and there are plenty of buyers who would love to see a proper pickup version of the Bronco offered as well.

We’ll have more on the future Bronco pickup soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Bronco news and ongoing Ford

I’d think long and hard about trading my gladiator for the 4 door pickup.

At least they are trying to compare it to the Mojave... Honestly, a battle between the bronco and the Mojave is more appropriate than a battle against a Rubi. That IFS lends itself to what the Mojave was designed to attack, open, hilly, desert environments.

Just saying.

I have a Bronco Badlands reservation. I plan on buying it and flipping it to fund my next JT.

I am an easy man to please, and don't particularly dislike any built rig. Wranglers and Gladiators, Broncos, Tacos, full on buggies, when properly outfitted are all great options. I used to be a driving instructor in the 82nd and we used HMMWVs and I could absolutely see myself in one of those.

I was interested in buying one of the higher-trim Broncos, my dad had a Gen 3 or 4 (can't remember) and even a GMC Jimmy and that old thing was awesome. It was actually my wife that told me "I will let you get a Gladiator right now if you promise you won't buy that ugly thing." And I bought my JT the next day. :CWL:

PS that 2DR rendering looks more like a Suzuki than anything!

It that related to off-road BBQ or companionship (the platonic kind of course) :)

First deliveries within a month. There are early reservation holders who have received beginning of production communication. If you get in line now about 10 months.

Or buy one in a month off a dealer lot for more than MSRP.

It will be much longer than 10 months depending on the trim you buy. I made a reservation and converted to an order end of May/beginning of June for a 4dr Badlands Sasquatch with Lux, 2.7, and tow package. Based on that I'm being told not to expect mine until sometime in the 2023 MY. I know Ford is having a lot of supplier issues with the Bronco right now, but it's tough to sustain hype on a vehicle like that when you're telling people who place an order today they won't see if for almost a year and a half.

It starts with a few kinda long marketing presentations, although the historic Broncos on hand were beautiful.

There is sand to demonstrate trail turn assist

the track has Broncos and Bronco Sports on it, so you then go through 18 inches of water. Nice demo of the 360 camera function here

then an obstacle for just the drivers side wheels. We asked him to show the pitch and roll meter and the roll was 22 degrees (that may have been after the peak)

the best is going over staggered bumps. They stop on the last stage when the driver side rear tire is in the air and hit the sway bar release. The Bronco then articulated quite a bit more

the final is a 38 degree incline, both ascending and defending. 3 degrees steeper than the Jeep display

the Broncos are beautiful and comfortable. We were in a Badlands non-Sasquatch soft top

We all liked Area 51 the best. Cactus grey is an enigma
