... and I wanna get ahead before it gets worse.

There are no YouTube videos on how to replace a pinion seal on a Dana44 AdvanTEK axle. Is the process the same on all flavors of Dana axels?

TIA

Do droplets actually form? If you still have powertrain warranty left, that should be covered under it.

As to videos on the operation, you are probably going to have to look for gear set videos and just look for the pinion gear portion to get the info you need.

I have attached the Tech Authority procedure on changing the rear pinion seal.

Voided the Drive Train warranty when I regeared. I'll check with the shop I had it done. Looking at the pdf you posted looks straight forward enough.

Thanks

:giggle: ... I think someone forgot some decimal points when editing that manual
500 ft-lbs is the maximum value. You are suppose to tighten the pinion nut to 360 ft-lbs per the torque table specification and then check the total torque to rotate spec which is 5 in-lbs.

If the total torque to rotate spec cannot be obtained, then the pinion nut is torqued in 5 ft-lb increments above the 360 ft-lbs and recheck the total torque to rotate spec. They are to not exceed the 500 ft-lbs.

Again, thanks for the PDF

Finally got around to replacing the seal. A lot easier than expected.
