This is the system I bought- $1299 off Amazon...

I had a friend install it in an afternoon.

I really wanted to like this thing.

Pros:
Better than factory.
rock/metal sound better
Can hear music better with top and doors off

Cons:
Insufficient bass if you like anything other than rock
Front right tweeter is cracking anything over volume level 25. Have tried to look it up and saw some other people with this same issue.
This system is garbage if you like hip hop music or anything with a lil thump.

At this point I am utterly frustrated, feel ripped off, and i am on the verge of pulling this thing out and sending it back. Do you guys that have this system have any helpful tips or tricks to get this thing sounding reasonable?

I would guess the real issue you are having is with the speakers. If the head unit has a equalizer or presets, those might help a little.

UPDATE: had a friend come over and tune it. Said the problem wasn't with the system, it was with the way whoever installed it tuned it on the uconnect system. Sounds decent now, better than stock. I'm happy with it, it is loud enough for what I need (old gen-x'er here). I give the system a 7/10. If you don't want to drop $4-5k on a booming system this is a great option if you just wanna hear your music better with the top and doors off.

Were you upgrading from the premium system or standard that comes with the 5" Uconnect?

Sorry for the Zombie post.

Sounds like the installer used the outdated installation instructions that had the wrong amp settings. I had the same issues. Good to read that you got it sorted out.

Now that you’ve had it for a while, how do you like or dislike about it?

Since it's resurrected, mind telling me what the amp settings should be and where to fine them? If mine is set wrong, that could explain a lot.

Thanks. Wow that was a lot of wiring diagrams and such to get to the meat of it. Guessing the little square on the bottom of page 10 is all the info I need. Hopefully Uconnect is easy enough to get into settings and see where they are/change if needed.
Those settings are on the subwoofer and amp, not on the Uconnect headunit.
