Good DIY, but the rigger in me is screaming.

Next time you put the top back on, use a 4x4 that spans the 3 joists and is wider than your top. Lag bolt the 4x4 in all 3 joists, set your eyebolt lags at the exact measurement of where you're bolting through the top. I know you have other things in play supporting the weight, but the two side pulls are putting undue stress on your fiberglass top.
Nah…it‘s tuff, and the chains are holding almost zero weight, all the weight of the top is resting comfortably on the flat shelf surface. The chains and lag bolts are only there to prevent movement and lock it into place. proper angles mating the JT top bottom and the shelf angles are important to set the CG of the top on the shelf bed. Your joist set up is good, or even better if we were talking more suspended weight…the top is 59lbs.

Not worried about the weight hanging on the joists.

I'm worried about side pulls on two parts that aren't designed for weight bearing. Those holes are for alignment pins, they aren't structural.

Today in my garage I draft them into structural duty for now though the end of fall.

I recycled the manual Harken Hoist I used for my former Wrangler's hardtop. Easy one man job.

The way it's sitting, there's pretty much no weight pulling on the front. I can lift a front corner with one hand (and that's saying a lot for me these days HA)
My bet is those are mostly stabilizing it, not really holding any real weight.

But if you should wake up in the middle of the night sweating, tossing and turning, gasping for breath concerned, you could run a large dowl, or 2x2 from hole to hole in the top and then attach your chains to it, pulling up straight.

Correct you are on the no real weight thing.
hum…middle of the night issues are usually not a problem, because I don’t sleep, but I do like yours and kevman65’s mods ideas.
