We did a trip from Atlanta to Coldfoot, AK. Artic ocean was our goal but we got turned back at Coldfoot. We used the found time to cut back through British Columbia and hit the entire west coast basically. 13000 miles in 28 days. Enjoy your trip. We talk about ours all of the time.

Yes, Looking forward to British Columbia. Hopefully my camp spots work out and I have a few trails marked that I want to hit!

Have fun leaving from the Gulf of Mexico. Not that anybody owns it.

We did a 15K mile trip from NC to Alaska including Prudhoe Bay and several areas in AK. Caught Salmon, Halibut and had a blast. We went in 2020 during Covid (don’t ask how we got across the border!) but we weren’t able to go to Tuk and a few other places. We are going to go back in a year or two.

We were gone 10 weeks. We originally planned for 12 weeks but like I said above Covid shut down a few places we wanted to go.

It will be an epic trip!

There are two main ways to get up there, The Alaskan Highway and the Cassier Highway. We took one up and the other back down. Highly recommend!

A lot of Canada is what they call Crown Land. It’s basically like BLM and there are plenty of places to camp along the way. If you don’t already use the iOverlander app I can highly recommend it!

I've always wanted to do a big portion of that trip on my motorcycle. If you can, keep track of how much is passable on street tires.

Drove a new 2023 JTRD from N Idaho to Fairbanks, last May.
Stayed in BC all the way to the YT. I live in Fairbanks. BC is a much nicer route for camping. Used a RTT on a Smartcap. Cooked on the tailgate. Refer and solar gen in back seat. No wasted time putting up or breaking down camp.

Nice! After retirement, my parents did that in their 1931 Ford Model A coupe except from GA to the Arctic Circle and back. They took a creative route and hit as many states and national parks as they feasibly could. They took the back roads and hit all the road side motels. They did it in 2010 and still talked about it almost daily till we lost my father in 2023. You’ll be able to go faster and camping vs motels. They only did about 55-60 maxed out. That’s the way to see America (and Canadia). Take the back road and see the small towns and sights.

We will welcome you to Canada… wish it was reciprocal but oh well
It still is!
Turn off the news and everything will be just fine. In traveling to almost 50 countries, some of whom were not friendly to the US the people I met there were all friendly and interested in meeting us and us them.

Its the politicians (from any country) that tend to screw things up.

Come on down!
