So do you have a tentative plan on oil changes / services? You can do the "oil change in a box" sort of thing. On the way, no I'm not saying to stop dumping, fill n go. I've had to do oil changes on a few trips and even axles due to flooding with water even. I kept a 8-10 qt drain pan "bottle" in my XJ for situations. Came in handy many times not just for me even.
Have a great trip and enjoy take pics.
When we did our trip in ā€˜20 it was in our truck camper, a diesel F-350 with an expedition pop up truck camper. I was also concerned and bout changes and did bring some stuff to do an oil change (along with a couple of other maintenance items) but found out I didn’t need to do that. We changed the oil and filter just before we left NC and our oil change light came on the first time in WY which was only a few thousand miles! Found a Ford dealer who had a quick lube lane and got that taken care of.
Then as we were pushing hard to get across the Yukon in the 24 hour time we were allowed (we didn’t make that!) my check engine light came on in the middle of no freakin where! Pulled out the OBII reader and saw it was a sensor in the exhaust system. We changed plans after crossing into AK and headed to the nearest Ford dealer in Fairbanks (a 200 mile detour) they couldn’t see us that day as it was late so we got a hotel room nearby. The next morning they had diagnosed the issue and replaced the sensor and it was covered by a recall so no charge. They also changed our oil and filter. We drove the rest of the trip and didn’t have to change again until we were back in the lower 48.

So the lesson is that oil changes aren’t a big deal. I would bring a couple of extra filters (oil and air) just in case you can’t make it to a dealership or larger town but you should be fine.

HAHA! I was able to ā€œsnagā€ a short term consulting gig where the company wrote me a letter per the requirements at the time allowing us to drive directly across Canada (no sightseeing etc.) into Alaska.
That shortened our expected trip by a couple of weeks and that’s why we hope to go back next year.
They didn't like it that I had no formal planned stops in Canada. I was worried about our dog and related paperwork. My Excursion was packed tight and I was sent to the inspection lane. I told them to knock themselves out with the inspection. One look at the gear they were about to pull out and they changed their mind.

I drove through BC in a new Jeep Gladiator diesel. Before I left civilization, I stopped in Prince George (dealer) and had the oil changed. They had the drive up lane going and took about a 1/2 hr. I do my own oil changes normally. One less thing to worry about.

My bucket list trip begins June 2! 15,000 miles in 67 days. Dulac, Louisiana to Tuktoyaktuk to Alaska to Louisiana.
Mostly boondocking / rustic campgrounds with a rooftop tent.

I planning a trip up the Dalton Highway around June 21 (longest day). Will you be up here around that time? Maybe we could team up.

I have no clue why people think they need a shotgun on a jeep trip. I’m pretty sure I’ve been to every state on that path. No guns in the car and I’m somehow still alive.

It'd be nice to be as oblivious to world dangers as you two, but I digress. I assume you don't have car or home insurance in case things happen right? For your sakes, I truly hope you never need real-time defense in a split-second for you or your family.

OP, safe travels and look forward to reading updates!
