As a soon to be owner, just ordered mine today I elected to split the difference and got the Hard top with Sunrider option. This will be my first hard top on a jeep and I figured I could source the aftermarket which apparently isn't as plentiful as the wrangler options. As for the longevity debate on the JT, I have had just about every type of pick up from single cab S10's to quad cab Dually's. I have always had a need for a truck in some form or fashion and due to family dynamics have been making due with an huge SUV and trailer the last 8 years. So it was a no brainer for me when the Gladiator came out. When the need comes for a full size truck with prices being what they are I will get another dually. The JT meets my needs and considering I dont go trying to climb a tree with it. We will be perfectly happy getting out on the trail for our camping trips.

I drove an 82 CJ5 Renegade with a soft top for years. Any top after that has been an improvement.

I have a hard top model with sound deadening insulation covering 95% of the top and a Coverking Topliner over that. I planned on putting sound deadener on the floor under the carpet, but it was so quiet with just the top done, I don't need it.

I routinely make phone calls at 70 MPH. If you want a quiet vehicle it is the only way to go.

That said, I do want to explore the Armorlite flooring, but only because I miss the vinyl flooring from my old vehicles.

I just picked up my 2022 JTM last week, with the factory freedom hard top, and with the Mopar head liner, and cold weather package. This is my first Jeep. I am up in Northern VT this weekend, where it’s -18 F today. The drive up here was comfortable though; I was really surprised how well that roof works with the Mopar headliner. I kept watching the outside temp drop, from 30, to 20, to 10, to 0, to -10 etc, and all the while no issues in the cabin. It was windy as heck in the Franconia Notch.

I’m definitely interested in a soft top for summer but man am I impressed with the hard top winter performance. What’s the best soft top if I’m trying to avoid the man bun?
Not many options yet. Suntop (hard to come by), or it looks like rugged ridge just came out with one, part no. 13595.14.

You may want to look into the Sunrider for Hardtop from Bestop. I have had it for over a year now and take off in the winter.
